Hi everyone, I am returning to this game after many years. I played it once and when I try to play again, it just shows a black screen when I press start. Anyone knows how to troubleshoot?

i love the first boss because of the strategy ( you can either only blast 1 part off and have to fight longer but have to dodge less bullets or you can blast all of the parts off and end the enemy faster but have to dodge more bullets )

The developer's idea of "very high damage" is not the same as mine. Having rockets that home, across the entire screen at 80% of efficacy compared to 20% better damage, but doesn't hit more than 40% of the screen and doesn't home, seems like a step backwards. Generally, not at all impressed. Far too grindy and for that you get a minimal step up in performance.

@askolan None of the final boss' attacks are unavoidable. If you're talking about the whip, it's got a limited range- if you watch closely you'll see there are parts of the screen it doesn't reach.

I didn't like the bosses on the usual difficulty level. Not sure why the devs expect me to try my hardest to beat the boss fight just to find out what the warp core was meant to do. I wonder if anyone was able to beat it without any cheat engine, including the devs themselves.

Lvl 25 fight and especially "boss run" mode fight duration is just stupidly long(successfull boss run will probably take almost half an hour).
Badges difficulty is fairly reasonable, though.
Red high HP/regen ship is by far the easiest to use; healing bomb is probably the best as well, since it heals even red ship to full, and other bombs can only prevent 1 instance of dmg.
Also, don't forget that you can equip second usefull ship upgrade like defence laser or shield instead of that warp core crap if you aim for badges.
All weapons seem to have close dps against bosses except laser(lower) and plasma(higher), perhaps.

who in the hell has the idea of giving the last boss a weapon that chases you and is unavoidable? this is just evil, theres is no reason to make the las boss so unavoidable. I have already beat him, but its not fun to rely on equipment to make shots take less damage, i know its a bullet hell, but its suposed you have to be able to avoid the bullets...

I love the concept and the upgrades... I loathe the lagginess of the controls. Completely ruined the game for me. 2stars.

It is very frustrating when you and a boss destroy each other at the same time after you have been trying to defeat it for a while. It seems like the outcome for that should not be just a loss, though not as good as an actual victory.

So, for BOTD you need to beat 2nd boss (lv10), got it by farming RP on 1st boss (lv5), using red hull (upgraded hp, regen, damage, firerate), rockets and a bit of luck dodging his attacks :)

Man, please make "bevel" the default style. Us red-green color-impaired folks can barely see the flat red enemies against the brown (which is really "dark orange") background. The bevel style makes them WAY more visible!

The game was pretty good up until that last boss. Like what the heck I get the boss is supposed to be hard but it's way out of proportion to the rest of the game. I've been buying all the equipment I never had to use, maxxing it out, trying all different combos and there's just nothing that works to damage that stupid thing.

Amazing.. I hate bullet hells but this is a 5/5. Reached atropos but whaaaat.. Sory cant keep playing my potato pc is freezed to hell and atropos gave the last blow ..

The final boss is a major step-up in difficulty, but the good news is, if you can complete that then reaching level 25 in Survival is child's play. I completed it with four homing rockets, 3 with split and 1 with weaken, and with shield, autobomb and the focus hull. Plasma (without homing) also seems viable, though you may struggle to target the boss in the late stages. Focus is your friend- you can get away with ignoring that feature in every level prior, but you need it for this one.

player's weapon projectiles are perfectly blurred. You can see clearly enemy projectiles and also see your shots. kudos to the dev

this might be only me , but I have serious difficulties in seeing enemies due to green-ish background and their red colour :/

The scoring seems way off. I died on a level that previously I got 97,000 on. I got about 80% through, killing approximately the same amount of enemies and got 7,000. Pretty asinine. Generally, the upgrades are not really that significantly improved and it's not a very "skillful" game, but rather a grind to power up and then avoid bullets while the homing bullets do damage. The metaphor for upgrading and purchasing is sub-par. High marks for shorter levels. 3/5

You're better than that Bob! If you're having trouble getting thru undamaged, you can do it pretty easily on Level 5. I know; it's a boss. But, if you IMMEDIATELY get right up in his face, on the right, with only 1 extra weapon (so you're still small) you can just sit there and fire away, without getting hit. After that, you can replay for 5K a round to grind out some easy $$$$.

Tip for 24: Lasers with affliction and acid attached make the level trivially easy. For Atropos, used Plamsa+Split+3 Splash and 1 Weaken... I'm not sure the weaken actually did anything, but the damage racks up fast. Getting through the first 20 waves in survival unscathed is easier than beating the 3rd boss unscathed, but it does pick up a bit in 21-25. Still, if you can beat Hyperion, it shouldn't pose a threat.

I managed to kill Hyperion without using any bombs. I have the Frantic 3 impossible badge, but I am never, ever trying to do that thing without taking any damage.

@archerbob just play the game a little and do level 1 and dont hit so many people while dodging everything its much easier

I admit it's kinda weird when upgrading the poison mod it actually decreases the longevity do deal damage faster instead of the standard increasing longevity to deal more damage in total

ok so I started from scratch today and after 2 hours I beat the last boss and got the survival badge very easily, because enemies don't get stronger in survivial. 5/5

When those fvcking blow-up ads start ballooning during the boss fight because you scrolled over them trying to avoid enemy fire... OMFG NEVER BUYING A 2020 MAZDA CX-30!!!
