I found a method that's still not completely 100% likely (this game is a lot of luck...): I started out with janders5's setup for day 1, 2 band and 2 launcher. try to get enough money on the first day for at least a parachute and either an e-rocket or band/launcher upgrades. On day 2, get as high as you can, then deploy your parachute. try to collect the floating coins (avoid the platforms unless you see a gold one and have a spare parachute). I used this method and got up into space on the 1st try on the 4th day. + to keep it alive. :P
