Change a letter to make a new word…make a change again to make a chain!
Word Chain is a simple and compulsive word game.
Instructions
Make new words by changing a letter in the current word. Use the mouse to select letters or keyboard (A-Z for the keypad, "back space" to go back a word, left & right to select letters in the current word, up & down to view the word list). Select the letter in the word you want to change, then click a letter on the pad to make a new word. Turn on all the lights to increase the score multiplier. Each word score the total of the letters plus time bonus multiplied by the multiplier. Remove the last word with the back button if you get stuck. The game is over if the time runs out. Later levels are made more tricky by less time bonus and disabled keys. UK or US dictionary can be selected by clicking "Options".

- Thanks again for everybody's comments. I've uploaded a new version that fixes the issue with the keyboard. I'm having trouble with both the chat and the high scores myself but having implemented Kongregate's code I appear to have no more control over it :-/

- could use a non-timed mode with lower scores. it's quite difficult to come up with a word with the time running out..

- bah, it was skipping 1 to 3 to 4 when i hit the right arrow and 4 to 2 to 1 with the left. looks like it was just incrementing by 2 instead of 1. this didn't happen with my first game, but was consistent on subsequent ones.
also, my scores were only updated with the results of my first play. the scores from my second game are not showing up. this may be because of the slow chat service, but it wouldn't be the first time that a game misreported.

- fun game. had a glitch on my 3rd game where the keyboard arrows were causing it to skip around. 1->3->43s slow chat service thing.

- Discoverd this game today when searching for "Crosswords". I'm glad I found it today now that there are high scores and keyboard support! Really really fun.
