Reviews

"I love this game for a few reasons -- it's free, it's fun, and it's expanding on an awesome but short console game -- but chief among those reasons is the dichotomy between simplicity and complexity. In the console version of Portal, there's a story to follow, detailed environments, and a first-person perspective. Here, you're in a very simple environment trying to achieve simple goals through ..." read the full review at ign.com »

Under rating threshold (show) Excellent game with a surprisingly large number of levels. 37 and 38 are the most challenging. The only let-down is the occasional glitch, sometimes when dropping a cube through a portal "unaccompanied" instead of coming out of the other portal it will simply fall through the floor to the level below. This was especially noticeable on level 38. Fortunately, the levels are quite short, and most of the challenge is in actually figuring out what to do, so these minor flaws don't impede the experience much. In fairness, a mechanism like portals must be extremely difficult to get to work glitch-free, and the game as a whole is highly enjoyable and one of the most professionally made that I've seen on Kongregate. I gave it five stars, and I don't do that very often!
