Day 8: it took me one week of throwing eggs to the specimen to find out he does not like eggs. I will further analyse this information.

I feel sorry for the zombie... I spent an hour making him the most docile and happy thing... Now I'm going to cut his arm off... FOR SCIENCE!

I would love if there would be an option to switch specimens. I seriously don't want to just delimb my 100% humanity and 100% mood zombie, yet I have to use some weapons to carry on.

day 82, the real people don't trust me, i think i should take a shitload of zombies, make them somewhat human, give them a gun, and have a zombie soldier army for my own protection.

YES that's my progress you jackass. You just saw a zombie talk on a cell phone, sing Karaoke, Salute me, and PLAY A FREAKING ELECTRIC GUITAR.
What the heck else do you want?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
would love to see a little window in the corner telling us how our zombie is doing, ie mood, hunger, humanity etc. instead of switching back and forth

Capt. Wood- okay which one of you dumb***es gave the zombie a gun who the F*** gives a zombie a gun
Allen-.....you don't understand my research
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Captain Wood saw a zombie stroke a cat, hug a teddy bear, use a microphone, say a simple phrase into a phone, and play a guitar, and he's STILL not impressed? The zombie played a guitar! What more does the man want?!

Dead Rat: Zombie looks at neutrally and drops.
Rubber Duck: Zombie looks at neutrally and tries to eat.
Conclusion: Zombie does not necessarily understand how to be a zombie.

'What happens is I shoot a zombie in the head with a pistol? Oh, I see. How about a rifle? Ah yes, of course. Well surely lopping it's head off with an axe will provide a different result. Hmm, no. still the same. well, that settles it... ooo a drill!'

For the "Fully Damage a Specimen" Achievement you need to:
- Pistol 3x both arms, both legs, and torso (not the head... obviously!)
- Rifle 3x both arms, both legs, and torso (not the head)
- Knife 3x both arms, both legs, torso, and head
- Nail Gun 3x both arms, both legs, torso, and head
- Crossbow 3x both arms, both legs, and torso (not the head)
- Machine Gun 3x both arms, both legs, and torso (not the head)
- Shotgun or Chainsaw to the torso only for disembowelly gooeyness
- Crowbar/Baseball Bat to the face a couple of times to knock the sucker's jaw off.
DONE. Don't chop off arms/legs/head till afterwards or you won't get the achievement! + this so others can see it please. LATER!

Its depressing to get a zombie to a certain humanity level and everything, and see touching scenes ( zombie learning about death, petting the cat and dog) and then having to kill it since you need variety. An option to save a zombie and start with another one would be great, so that we can start with another without killing the one you already have. I feel like I'm shooting my pet dog or something...

Giving a zombie you've chained up a loaded pistol while standing right in front of it after hitting it with a stick, is that such a good idea?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Also... what is the main character thinking? Ok so I just hit the zombie on the right arm with a bat... Maybe if I hit it on the right arm with a crowbar there will be a new reaction? What if... just stick with me here, instead of hitting it on the right arm with a bat, I hit it on the... wait for it... LEFT ARM with a bat. The zombie must react differently to that!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yay 100% completion. Took roughly 6 hours. Very nice game, only the ending was major disappointing. And you don't get rewarded for discovering all reactions.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I just want to know where this all ends. I've hit 99.3 percent complete in the research, have 4/4 (or max) reactions on all of my objects, weapons and food, and I'm all alone with a pack of zombies. Is there an end to this game?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Tips For Playing: 1) Burn through a bunch of zombies with the weapons before you pick a favorite, since it might save you the trouble of training up a new zombie only to ruin your hard work by killing it because you forgot to test out the drill/machete/etc. 2) Research constantly. Everything you do and use will need to be researched in order to use it to its fullest potential, and most skills/items will need to be researched more than once. 3) Get to know your zombie and use the items it likes to your advantage. 4) Most items have four different reactions: Neutral, Passive, Agressive, and Advanced. The Advanced reactions may be hard to unlock, but if you follow the previous three tips it'll be easier to do so. + so others can see this.

Yay I got 100%.
Here's some help: For the jaw smashing achievement, any smacking weapon, including the boxing gloves, can break the jaws, but some take more hits than others. A certain reaction for the fan will also do it.
For the max damage one shoot the specimen 3 TIMES IN EACH LIMB with: pistol, rifle, crossbow, machine gun everywhere but the head, use the nailgun and knife everywhere including the head. Shoot out the gut with the shotgun or chainsaw, and remove the jaw in any way. If you didn't get it you didn't use one of the weapons enough.
*MEGA SPOILER* (Not really though) This dude is the Road of the Dead dude's brother?!

@DreamingDiva - I had mine say a simple phrase; salute, chamber a round, and fire a weapon; show dexterity by handling a cat w/o incident; read a book!; and finally, play on the drum to show an understanding of rhythm and order. I just showed him that these zombies can be trained as simple soldiers, and he *still* wasn't impressed!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Definitely a very cool game. My only complaint is that on the later levels, way way later, there's no longer any payoff. It gets slow. We've figured out the story, and only have one or two cool new things to discover. Otherwise, a fantastically addicting game. 5/5 :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Who else thought the zombie was going to shoot them resulting in a game over when they achieved the "Aggressive response"?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I read on the forums that if you keep playing after a certain point, won't mention the cut scene in particular to avoid spoilers, that you're just 'playing to play'. That cut scene wasn't much of an 'ending'. And the notes you get in your objectives hint at an ending that never happens. So yeah, in the future... plan for a more satisfactory, or at least more permanent, ending. Then add a 'would you like to keep playing?' option for those who would.

Day 74:Specimen tries to pet dead rat group finds it sad.It has actual emotions intriguing Day 75:Specimen kills puppy the rest of the group wants to kill it now.

It is weird. I came into this game thinking it was awesome torturing poor stupid zombies. But then something odd happened. I caught myself smiling at the creature's antics. Eventually I came to love my pet zombie. I even felt loss and sorry for it as I had to put it down. Why? Why did you make me care about a zombie?!

"-Let's see... what if I shoot my test subject point blank in the head ?" "-Damn, what a shame..."
What did he expect ?

This games is awesome! I do agree about switching specimens and the stats monitor suggestions, and it can get a bit grind-ish in the later levels, but i loved it. No other game or instance in my life have i ever felt compassion and an emotional attachment to zombies.
I spent hours teaching a zombie all the passive and advanced reactions until i remembered to research the alpha team stuff! The zombie animations seemed so genuine and the voice acting was great too.
To top it off, i can supplement the kind emotions with savage pleasure by destroying them with all kinds of weapons. Overall, one of my favorite games, 5/5 from me.

Man... i actually tought i was gonna find a cure when my zombie's humanity reached 100%... oh well guess i'll just chop his head off...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Played this game to the end.. very cool how the storyline lines up with the other games in the series :) shame that there is no way to impress the captain... you can get all of the results in time for his meeting by not researching the alpha notes... Would be cool if he could at least SAY something different like "wow you have made a ton of progress, maybe there is hope for us yet, but we gotta get out of here we can't hold out any more..." or something?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Right. So I shoot, punch, beat and generally laugh at the zombie trying to claw my eyes out. 2 hours later I'm about to start crying when I get the advanced reaction to a dead cat, and the zombie looks completely surprised at the fact that the cat is dead. Then I see that the zombie's mood goes down because it gets sad. CURSE YOU FOR MAKING ME CARE ABOUT A ZOMBIE'S FEELINGS!!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
When first playing it, I thought it was a simple game where you used different items on Zombies. But it was a game that included actual goals and Storylines. The Notes and the Tapes are great, And the stuff you use it good too.
5/5

To fully damage a specimen, shoot him in the limbs 3 times each with the pistol, crossbow, machinegun, and the rifle. From there you stab him in each limb including the head 3 times and use the nail gun on each limb and the head 3 times. Finish him off with a jaw shot by using a stick or boxing gloves loads of times, or you can use crowbar and bat a few times, but if you really want to you can use the fan in the objects section to get rid of his jaw for you.
