Description
Saturn Blue is a platform shooter which features 35 unique upgrades, 6 of which are secret upgrades and an additional 6 of the upgrades can be purchased multiple times.
You start out weak with barely any movement capabilities, but in time you'll be fast and deadly using a wide variety of weapons and gadgets - none of which become completely obsolete.
Unfortunately you are fighting a horde of constantly evolving robots which will develop and refine new abilities as you player higher and higher mission levels.
The main storyline consists of the first 25 levels after which you may face the boss, but you will likely have to play until at least mission 30-35 until you have enough upgrades and knowledge to beat the boss.
In total there are over 100 numbered missions, 2 secret challenge levels and a boss level.
Good luck and please enjoy.
How to Play
Initial instructions (can be customized in-game):
WASD for movement and mouse to aim and fire. *Press ENTER to return to mission command after you have collected the bluetonium* - or defeat all enemies for additional research points and you'll be automatically teleported back.
Additional buttons are explained in-game in the tech tree. Reading the instructions is VERY IMPORTANT just as reading the in-game tips and story will help you beat the game, but keep in mind that there are secret uses for many upgrades that you will have to discover yourself.
Purchasing Upgrades: Click on the upgrade in question and then click on "Purchase." You must have the prerequisites and enough research points.
Additional controls:
P to pause, -/+ to change volume, 0 to mute, and backspace to mute music (temporary)
Developer Updates
1. Updated targeting reticule โ visibility should be greatly improved and it will provide feedback regarding the direction of the basic blaster
2. Removed left/right bias of the blaster to coincide with improved targeting reticule. Aiming for the basic weapon will now break at exact 45 degree angles

Thanks so much for the nice comment. The enemies and upgrades really become amazing in the later levels.

I have never before stopped to comment on a game, not even ones I've especially loved. This one, however, so completely surprised me with its hidden depth that I had to take a moment to thank you for the hard work you've obviously put into this. To anyone put off by any initial appearance of this game, please, please give it a chance. I'm sure glad I did. Five stars.
Thanks so much UberKryos. One of the problems is that I got a lot of 1 star ratings before many people could play my game and so it is now quite hard to see. I'm still working at improving the game and very shortly I'll be uploading a version with 2 completely new enemy types. Please let me know if they make the game too difficult(or too easy) or if you find any bugs because I had to change and make a lot of new code for them.

6/5. 5 stars for the gameplay, story, upgrades, music, and enemies. Bonus star for the particles on the upgrade screen. When you're having so much fun playing on the upgrade screen that you forget to buy upgrades, you KNOW it's a great game! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the kind words. I put a lot of work into this game, but it looks like a lot of people are just giving up after the first level or not reading the instructions (e.g. like pressing ENTER after getting the bluetonium) so they aren't getting to all the upgrades and enemies.

I loved every aspect of this game, also that I can not remember when it was the last time when I truly enjoyed any upgrade-shooter type games. It is good to see that there are new and genuine concepts still developed, and I agree at the time of this post this game is way underrated. Two suggestions: it would be interesting to see on the leaderboard how many death it took to get to lvl100; and the 30 sec recharge rate of blueforce gen, seems forever on an average map beyond 60+ (I either finished or dead earlier), could be reduced a bit. Great game!
I'm glad you liked it. I tried to look at everything with new eyes and not do the same old thing that's already been done before. By the way, if you use the gravitic blue force charger, a secret upgrade you get a hint for on I think level 36, then you can shorten the recharge time to around 6 seconds. It is also the easiest secret upgrade to get. In any case, I put on my "to do" list a circle upgrade you can use to shorten the recharge time.

One of the most underrated games on kong.
Thanks :). I've added a couple more enemy types as well which should spice things up a bit.
