I thought that the strange English actually helped a lot with the characterisation of the little blue dude. In my opinion, the "Engrish" sort of works to add lots of texture to his personality. When graphically there's not much going on, language has to be used carefully to engage the player. Maybe still tidy up the grammar slightly, but perhaps get a native English speaker to help you with the language, especially as it's such a large component of the game.
