I wonder if, afar from the boosts of questionable quality, begging is really necessary. If it was about progress speed, wouldn't it be better to just drink and spend all points on drinking?
How about pricing the beer? Like 3 bucks per 500 exp?

drinking rate is useless: each level increase by more than 10%, which is the upgrade% of the first one, and it gets lower each time, so you are really just wasting an upgrade point.
