I saw speedrun of that game and hopped instantly on Kongregate hoping i'd find it and thanks to that demo actually I'll buy a full version for myself on steam. 5/5

Here's a funny fact for all you complainers : This game saved it's developer from debt. This was most likely going to be his very last game as a full time indie developer if this wouldn't have sold well. Yes, he said the original price of $15 was misjudged, but it wound up saving him from debt and making it possible for him to continue making games full-time, so all of you complainers should just shut up. There is a huge library of free games on this site for you to play if a masterfully designed indie platformer isn't your slice of cake.

Alright, pretend like the game doesn't have the word "demo" in the title. Pretend like you don't have to pay 5 dollars to play the full game. Pretend like the developer wasn't broke when he made this game. Pretend like it doesn't have a low rating.
Now rate it.
Seriously, because those seems to be the four major (Your words, not mine) problems with this game. This game is just as long a majority of other games on Kong. As with the 50 kreds ($5.00), what's so bad with that? You get to play this fun little level, and if you really like it, it's just 5 bucks. You complain about this yet you people spend $50 easy on Xbox 360 and PS3 games! He was broke. Two of the top comments explained that, and as for the low rating, just because some people didn't like the game because of the immature reasons above doesn't mean you have to jump on the bandwagon. Alright, I'm done being pissed off. Im going to play this game again. See ya when this game is one of the highest rated games on Kong.

That shiny in the veni vidi vici rooms... I can't decide whether you're a level design genius or an absolute monster. Such a great game, though, 5/5 and favorited. I'm not one to pay for games like this, but that was the best 5 dollars I've ever spent. Great concept, great design, great execution, and great music. Thanks for such a wonderful game.

I bought this game on steam and now i play it on Kong again, because this game is really awesome. A rare game that is highly challenging but not frustrating. :) + If you get all Trinkets in the full version. :D

This game, for 50 kreds, is one of the best i've ever played. The controls are very smooth, the level design is genius, and the overall art design is wonderful. 5/5, would recommend to friends.

You guys have to understand why the developer would bother with making a short demo, or making the full-version $15. Making flash games is a generally low-profit thing to do, and many developers do it full-time. Getting ad revenue and sponsorship money isn't enough most of the time, which is why you're seeing a lot more games like this come out lately. Games where there's purchasable content, or you need to pay-to-play. Developers need that extra money in order to keep investing their time in the buisness. Judging from the past few months, games like this are becoming common enough to not really be an issue. Aside from the huge hate-fest toward this game, I thought it was pretty fun and definitely deserves a good rating. 5/5

This game has wasted my life away, wow. And it's gotten to the point where I find "A Difficult Chord" not that difficult anymore...

Loved its Simplicity and especially its challenging levels. Been a while since I played a game that took a few trys with sweat and tears to complete.

so heres the story line: the D.D.S. souleye has hit an unknown interface, and going to crash. everyone evacuates by going inside a portal. but unfortunatley for all of them, they all get teleported around, seperated. viridian will have to find a teleporter to go back to violet. on his way, he found mysterious artifacts/orbs. arriving to the teleporter, viridian used the teleporter and found violet. in the 2nd level, viridian finds something new: gravity lines. by going down a pit, viridian tought he would have "died" but touched one of these lines! they can sometimes block you. and need to take advantage of it! sometimes, it can be tricky to get past. but viridian did it anyways. viridian arrived to a portal, but realised he could not use it to go back to the ship in the demo. so he continues his route. after all of that, viridian found victoria! after finding victoria, he explained everything, but victoria didnt understand anything... but after that, they entered a portal. the end.

@troublemaker
the only button in the game to /click/ is the buy button, but the action button it the equivalent of a select button, up and down to choose an option,
action to select it.

For everyone who wants to know: The V's in the name stand for the names of the crew members. There's Viridian, Violet, Vitellary, Vermilon, Verdegris, and Victoria. Also, the album of music for this game is called PPPPPP because all of the names for the pieces of music start with a P.

I remember seeing this game on vSauce a while ago and thinking I should try it. Glad a badge brought me here. Great game :)

On any other game, having to repeat one room that many times to get it right would make me at least a little mad.
Also: This game has a MineCraft splash devoted to it. "Also try VVVVVV!"

What are these spikes everywhere!?
Isn't there a space station inspector that makes sure that aren't hazards like that?
Maybe he stepped on a spike and died before he stepped into a space checkpoint?
Haha Seriously though, great game 7/5 :D

If nobody knew this was a demo and any indication was removed that the game continued after level 2, I'd bet there would be a better rating for this game. People seem to get bitter when told "this is just part of the game and you need to pay for the whole thing" but they don't realize that if this was the whole game it would still be a really good flash game, although a bit short.

Didn't really expect it. THIS GAME IS AWESOME. It's a shame it's a demo tho, however I understand the reasons that led the developer to this and I hope he can profit a lot more. Great work: logical and simple but can keep you entertained for a lot of time (specially if you are like me and don't quit until you get the achievement :)) Keep on.

The full game actually has a way to turn that off (flashes/etc), the demo should have as well, or at least a warning.

This is pretty good. The controls are incredibly touchy and that resulted in it taking a very long time to get past a lot of sections. There are other games of this gravity type genre, but this one does it well other than the controls making things pretty difficult.

@Terastas: The name of the game is "VVVVVV DEMO," the game description states that it is a 2 level DEMO available for purchase on Kong or Steam, the title screen says "Play the DEMO," and offers information "ABOUT THE FULL GAME," and how to "UNLOCK on Kongregate." When you start the game, you are presented with a screen that explains that this is a DEMO, and that as a DEMO, it contains only 2 of the 8 levels of the FULL GAME. It then asks you to press a key to continue playing this DEMO. All of this before you even begin the game.
Don't blame the developer for your inability to read ANY of the numerous explanations that this game is a demo. Don't pretend like you were tricked. And don't pretend like you respect the developer's need to make a living off their hard work--you're mad because you're not getting what you want for free.
