Given the outfit (black shoes and trousers, bright white socks) I always liked to imagine you played Michael Jackson in some post-apocalyptic megacity, trying to outrun the rest of the Jackson 5 before they dragged you into a reunion tour.
But that's just my interpretation.

Nice concept, but I would enjoy it a lot more if the character stopped randomly refusing to jump, or jumping a full second after I press the button.

It's rather annoying that so much of your success hinges upon the randomized placement of hazards and platforms. Just keep rolling the dice until you get lucky.

the only reason you have frame rate issues is because this game uses flash, and that can't be helped. If you ever played the HD version, it's a lot more stable, and with a major graphical update. Also, I don't think the giant-robot-arm-that-smashes-the-building-with-its-fist trap was in this version... but I can't be sure.

Update: I have been to the Canabalt website, and the game works no better there - even though you can use the mouse there to jump. Seems to be a Flash issue or a programming issue - at least it isn't just Kong.

this is an overrated game... defective input recognition and a random level generator that creates dead ends (ex: crate spawned on a small platform if I jump over the crate i fall in the pit, if I hit the crate I lose speed and can't make the jump; not to mention the random instant game over missiles that drop down)... a game that does it right: Epic Coaster

the easy badge seems nearly impossible to me cause the jump button can't be trusted at all... could have been a nice game...

My FPS is jumping all over the place... I seem to be going from 60 to 0 in the course of a second. If I'm trying to jump at a low frame rate, it doesn't allow. It also seems that I can reset my frame rate, but only sometimes... someone besides me must be seeing this.

I have been trying to play this for 15 minutes now, and cannot continue. I have tried cinematic mode, I have tried shutting everything else on my computer down. I have tried changing settings in Flash. Nothing - still completely glitchy, with around 25-30% failure rate to accept jumps - I feel like I'm using the Nintendo Power Glove playing this game. Please fix it.

There's something glitchy going on in this game. No matter which jump button you choose, there is about a 30% chance it won't work.

There's something going on here around edges, I swear I've jumped while on solid ground, but fall instead. Tested a few dozen times and it seems like if any of your front foot is off the edge the jump button does not work. Most games train you to look at the center of a character, this one you must look at the front.

I wish x was a short jump only. I hate that my jump is usually just a bit too long each time, and I don't seem to be improving at hitting the key just right.

Lol played for a 1/2 hour went straight from under 2000 m as my best to 5000m in one run. There should be a face slide effect when you miss a window

I was almost there. 4976 meters, running it by ignoring all strategies and just jumping. And then, a window appeared, below my elevation, when I was going ridiculously fast.

After 20 minutes of trying, I cannot get the 'Runner's High' achievement... The worst part is, my highest score is 4950...

the PSP version of this is WWWAAAYYYY better. you can jump short or far or in between and theres giant nukes that you gotta jump on

For anyone that has trouble with the grinders, there seems to be a faint "clap" while you're on the platform before the grinder. When you hear it, get ready to do some fancy jumping.
