"You ran 101m before hitting a wall and tumbling to your death." I think I've got a ways to go before I get the hard badge...

@asdflordrocco Are you sure that it isn't in the distant dystopian future (hence all the smoke and the sky being a dull gray due to air pollution), and suddenly robotkind turned on humanity?

Can't believe I did it! I had the record of 4998(!!!) for 3 years!
the worst thing in this game is definitly the windows that are BELOW the platform you're running on. They have a 95%-deathrate on me.

Given the outfit (black shoes and trousers, bright white socks) I always liked to imagine you played Michael Jackson in some post-apocalyptic megacity, trying to outrun the rest of the Jackson 5 before they dragged you into a reunion tour.
But that's just my interpretation.

Incidentally I may be out of practice now, but I played this game a lot in the past and I wasn't lying about hitting 10k at times (not that that's anything to brag about if you've seen the iPod high scores). Contrary to Aaants' comment, I find a *faster* speed works best for me. IMO it's easier to only watch the second half of the screen and control my jumps (most of them can be small and in a lot of cases you don't have to jump at all). This way I find myself more prepared for surprises like falling engines or windows with obstacles before them that will screw up your jump. If it's getting faster than you can handle, just let an obstacle hit you every now and then and you're good.

This is an interesting game but the fun quickly turns to frustration. The screen shaking is a cool effect but frequently causes the game to lag and the character to hit a wall. The game seem to be randomly generated which unfortunately means you run into unbeatable obstacles. I have hit a stretch where there was a box where I landed 4 times in a row and it caused me to be too slow to make a jump. I have also had a nuke drop, jumped over it and right into a wall. A double jump feature would help bump this game back into the fun category again.

Seriously, when you press Jump, It doesn't matter you choose C, X or Spacebar becaseu that crazy man will not trust you and choose not to jump.

Note to everyone: crates are friends, not enemies.
Use them wisely to control your pace so you won't get yourself into insanely-fast-can't-look-what's-coming-ahead speed.
However, aim for the first crates in each building only, so the game has time to recalculate your current speed to make the next jump fitting to your pace.
Hope it helps. The hard badge was cake using this method :D

True, it's actually super rigged and it's solely based onto luck. It took me over 100 tries (or more) to get the medium badge and the only tips I can give are: follow Aaants's comment from 2010 (it's the 3rd comment in BEST list) and pray to not get windows (or if you do, pray that they aren't low range ones that are impossible to pass).

I wish x was a short jump only. I hate that my jump is usually just a bit too long each time, and I don't seem to be improving at hitting the key just right.

appreciate drrockface's post, but since I wasted 10 to 15 tries with it not working right before reading it, this game does not get a high rating. Playing a buggy game is not fun.

How big is this city? Does it just go on infinitely? Seems like it was a huge project to build, and now they are tearing it all down, which will take just as long, since it is infinitely big.

If this is in the future, does that mean the main character is a cyborg? Then it would make sense how he could run so fast and jump so high.
