Is there like a hidden jump meter? Sometimes, well a lot actually it's unresponsive and won't allow me to jump, maybe when the buildings shake you can't jump or the smoke is nerve gas directly effecting my legs and my will to jump? Gonna spam click x and space bar maybe then 2k meters will be possible... :/ It's sad this game seems like it would be a lot of fun if it were more responsive.

this is the only guy that runs like 20 meters per second, and instead of slowing down after running for a long time, he speeds up!

So here is what seems like is going on. The hero was at work when mysterious alien machines fell out of the sky. They started attacking the city when the hero realized the building he was working in was working in caught fire and was collapsing. He also realizes that the only way to make it out of the city alive is by running out of it, hence the "daring escape." Now I realize that none of this matters and the game is probably more fun without any explanation, but I love a good story. Especially ones with alien robots falling out of the sky.

So, judging from the music and how fast that guy can run and that neat roll he does when jumping out of a window... Is the character Neo or something?

So the best I did in all my attempts ever was just over 1000m (and I remember trying on several occasions). Suddenly, the Xbox entry comes along and in a few tries, I jump from there to 5131m. It's funny because I don't particularly even want an Xbox.

"I ran 4568m before hitting a wall and tumbling to my death in Canabalt" Yeah looks like a nice thing to tweet without much context

I won an entry after playing for half an hour then realized that the competition is only open to those living in USA -_- Oh well, it was fun

So I got the easy badge long ago (You acquired this badge on Oct. 30, 2011.) Coming back today for daily badge and decided to play for hard badge, but windows = my death. I have yet to jump into a single window and its really annoying ^.^ PS: This game is from 2009, keep that in mind when judging it "by other games of this style"

That moment when you get into the rythm of jumping and then you realize the window spawned below the building you were on.

If i could give this game a 0/5 i honestly would. Extremely unresponsive and frustrating, that is not to say that i did not get the badges....but extreme lack of control.

"You Ran 324 m before you hit a wall and tumbled to your death," yeah well that's because the F***ing jump button doesn't work

Can anyone explain why the RNG always wants to drop a rock directly on my head with no chance to dodge it when I get to about 1800m? Screw this badge.

This game doesn't have the worst, most ridiculous mechanics of all the games I've played, but I don't really like it when you're forced to either HOPE for a decently doable layout for whatever amount a Hard badge requires or have Jedi reflexes. Most of the fails happen in two instances, both seem beyond Human control unless your brain literally thinks and calculates a dozen or more times faster than normal. First is when grinders fall and you're going at such a speed that if you jump a hair too late, you hit the grinder, but a hair too early and you won't make either the new platform or the one you were just on, and there was no in-between because you were going too fast. Second is when a window appears too low for you to be able to get low enough to reach even if you don't jump when you're going fast or when a box appears in the perfect spot to make you either miss it or fall between buildings.

There's something glitchy going on in this game. No matter which jump button you choose, there is about a 30% chance it won't work.

I have been trying to play this for 15 minutes now, and cannot continue. I have tried cinematic mode, I have tried shutting everything else on my computer down. I have tried changing settings in Flash. Nothing - still completely glitchy, with around 25-30% failure rate to accept jumps - I feel like I'm using the Nintendo Power Glove playing this game. Please fix it.
