Oh, for Christ's sake, stop mentioning Plants vs. Zombies. In video games (and not only), there's this thing called a genre. Learn the word. If I compared Call of Duty to Halo, I'm sure quite a couple of people would argue my point, despite them both being FPSs. Well, Plants vs. Zombies and this game are both Strategy or Tower Defence or whatever you want to call them games. That's more or less where the similarities end.

Could you at least make the upgrades screen come at each level? Kinda tedious to have it come up once every few levels.

This game is unique and addictive, but I have a few suggestions that would make it a little better. First of all, the upgrade menu should be able to be accessed on the level screen, and not only after beating a level. Going along with this, a person should still gain exp from beating the first two levels, but only be able to access the upgrade menu after beating the third. Another thing is that the AI should have a slight delay time for placing towers. I noticed that it would spam a bunch of towers at one time or change a whole row instantly, and it makes it a bit harder to keep up with it. Lastly, maybe instead of upgrades being available only on some levels, it would be a bit better to have them be able to be bought from the upgrade menu and then available on all levels after buying.

If you have already completed all the levels on gold, how are you supposed to trigger the badge? Would love to not have to beat them all again, so I was wondering if anybody knew how to trigger the badge.

@ anakin, its quite easy really. Later in the game if you're struggling because the enemy is spewing too many different kinds of malware, just put two lasers (attacks vertically) in the middle. With two rows passable uptop, two down below, and one in the middle. Upgrade each laser once, and put shooters behind the lasers (since they cannot attack foward), and presto! You have a inpenatrable defense (except for trojans, which isn't a hard fix). The blue virus's that turn invisible when they get shot, you'll need to put 2 more lasers about 5 blocks behind your original lasers.

hey does anyone use the repair method
that method is you keep spaming the numbers and keep pressing the repair button (2 columns of coprocessers, 3 columns of cannons and 2 columns of resistors is recomended)

Instead of fighting with each other, they should just team up and build nothing but moneymakers/coprocessors... and get rich...

A suggestion? The save game area has two medium sized buttons to import/export games to Age of Games, and one GIGANTIC button to push for New Game... and you have to click on the areas inbetween or above in order to play your current game. I'd suggest shrinking the size of at LEAST the New Game button, that's quite unnecessary for it to be THAT large.

It's very simple. Double up on money and processing power, build a line of resistors/firewalls, then a yellow/green/red line, then artillery. Then build up resources and nail one enemy row, cycling through all malwares in sequence, over and over. Enemy won't be able to penetrate your defences, and the multiple types of malwares will quickly destroy his row, and deliver damage. The End.

Isn't the point of hacking to get bank accounts,sensitive info, etc? Then why do you log out as soon as you've finally managed to get into their defenses?

Fun game. Couple of UI issues that seemed to get in the way (maybe an artificial way of making it harder, but either way it was just annoying)... things like not being able to see behind the upgrade pop up, Not being able to see damage unless you hovered... that type of thing.
Some nice touches I, at least, hadn't seen before - repair all being one. The modifiers mentioned by, e.g., @inwho are nice too.
The damage/cost issue mentioned by @Obelith was also annoying, but perhaps designed to stop the repair all being too powerful.

ULTIMATE DEFENSE: front row: Toroids. 2nd row: Chip Shooter. 3rd row: Condenser. 4th row: anything (I use Silos). 5th row: silos. Rest of them Proccesors and Money Makers. While building this defense wait till you have 450 mind to research the Pgp Coder then wait for about 800 mind then send in 5 in row 1 and 2 and he will wipe the whole board. Wait for another 800 and then repeat and game over you win gold for round 17. PS if the break thru to far press shift control and replace everything with bombs and RATE UP so people can get the Hard. (also works for round 16 and parts for round 15) HACKERS UNITE!!!!

Very entertaining. The last few levels can easily be conquered by erecting blocks, chip shoothers and neural networks. Don't bother researching anything other than the skull and red triangle. Send them out one after the other in quick succession and the opponent can't change grids fast enough to stop them.

Pro tio: at the start of a match download the bat virus and send one down every row. The computer sometimes is too slow and you can get a hit on the enemy and make them waste a bullet.
A really fun game that I played all the way thorough. But it is way to fast. Even on the slowest speed I was not fast enough to adjust me defenses or fix a breach in a wall. It would be better if there was just a straight pause button so I could configure and check my turrets rather. Or to have a hotkey system that follows the turrets rather than the viruses. Also, allow us to stack virus in a queue like in Starcraft because I would forget that I was in the middle of an attack while dealing with my turrets. Also, every turret needs way more health, since if the resistor in your line goes down the turrets die instantly and you can lose a whole line.

Maybe the author can change the screen where you lose the match, you get BSOD instead of "You have been defeated message"? It makes it more real or something??? =)

I know its a s*it to buy new defende after you get one more column (because of the skill)
but if it would be of help,for those who dont read the instruction (hack pedia) hold ctrl and click a turret to sell it,hold shift to buy multiple of the same turret,hold space and click a turret to upgrade it,hold shift+ctrl and one turret when you have a turret selected to swap the turrets (one is buyed and the other is sold),evry turret have 3 upgrades,you just need to unlock them,only BOMB turret and POTENTIOMETER turret dont have upgrades.
