Klublife's suggestion - not allowing the player to choose a "useless sock color" - has been added to the game. Thanks Klublife!

Lots of people don't like starting over at Level 1... I understand where you're coming from, but restarting where you left off just doesn't seem like it would work for this type of game. At least in my opinion. I may be wrong and have been before. How would the score be affected? Also, I always viewed this game like solitaire... in that once you reach Level 7 with 7 colors and only 23 moves, it's possible to get an "impossible" level. The sock layouts are completely random - the game does no checking to see whether a level is completable. (I thought about doing some checking, but it's a nontrivial mathematical problem and maybe CPU intensive.) That said, the highest level I reached during testing was level 21. And judging from Mochi some players have gone higher!

Great comments, guys. 0AP0, Sgt. Droopy, you're spot on about the bonuses needing to increase. That's one of those braindead obvious things I should have thought of but just didn't even consider. I've now set it so bonuses start at 200 points per unused move at Level 1 and double for each succeeding level. That may allow for crazy high scores, and may not make much of a difference... hard to tell. Personally once I reach Level 7 and beyond I'm lucky to finish a level with zero moves left, let alone one or more!

I'm really enjoying this. A few suggestions:
Instead of swatches down below, clicking a sock of the color you want would help the flow and prevent useless selections.
The animation should probably be a little faster.
The number of bonus points for unused turns should go up as the level goes up.
I particularly like the blinking.

it's a nice puzzler, in my opinion. but it could use some features like checkpoints every 5 levels and easy and hard modes. the easy would give a preview when you mouse over the color

@TheBitchInBlack - Funnily enough, colour based games work just as well with symbols in this case - or, hey, here's a new trick, ditch purple and bring in black? OMFG!!!! This game isn't so much based on 'colours' as it is on patterns - Colourblind modes don't take anything from the game at all - only people like you do.

O.O Second time I played, I made second place in the daily high scores... I'm either very lucky or very good... cool :P

@ Fionacat The whole game is based on colors, it's what makes it fun, "colorblind mode" completely defeats the purpose of the game. And if that was a joke... c'mon I'm sure you could've thought of something better than that.

The game isn't copied. there are tons of games with this concept. This has socks, the color spreads 5 ways in mad virus, not 4 ways. I'm not saying this is original, I'm saying this clearly isn't a "copy" or a "clone".

Well executed, but not worth replaying. Continuing from the last level completed would help a little, but there is just not much game there.

Great game. Nice use of graphics and sound. I would like to see moves not used from the previous level carried over. To give more incentive to use the least amount per level.

Clone of Mad Virus. The color change animation slows down the game and gets annoying after a while. 2/5 for a decent clone, but you gotta add something to the game to make people excited about it.

Its a good game, but its very small and a little repetitive. Its amazing how great a simple, innocent toy like this can become. I was kind of hoping for some cool time tril mode, and maybe even a fun fantasy-like story line. However, some way of knowing what socks you have touched would be nice, like highlight the background of each square. I really like the colorful patterns, but i couldn't make it passed level 5. Great game! 4/5
