This game would be excellent if the bosses weren't so tedious/annoying. I like the weapon modifications, but the laser and many of the weapons seem extremely lackluster until you've added two fully upgraded modifications when in R1 you didn't even have to get them nearly so far to feel powerful. A number of the achievements in-game also seem too tedious, like RP collecting giving a bonus to RP instead of just getting the RP which is no walk in the park.

has anyone manage to beat the boss rush? I don't even pass the 3rd boss :'(
Really good game, I love how it became harder and harder.

does laser damage stack when it goes through the boss and curls back on his head, and how much damage does the split weapon enhancement actually reduce weapon fire

The one only thing that could make this games even better is power ups, ones you can buy ad keep, (cool down time), ones you buy but is one-time only, or some that drop from enemies. The only thing. Great job!

Holy shit. This game is very in-depth and well-made. Thanks for a great RPG-Shooter blend that obviously required a lot of effort on your part. It's games like this that I actually feel inclined to play through.

Replay level 11 with Homing+Split on your weapons to get the "Kill enemies with X" achievements the quickest and easiest, you don't even need to move for the entire level!

I'm sure this game is good as I enjoyed the first one but thanks to being Red Green colourblind it makes it damn near impossible to see the enemies, having to trail back their attacks instead.

The game mechanics and enemies are very sound, but the endgame is extremely unrewarding. There basically is no endgame in terms of items.

Hyperion is, unlike what some ppl have said, quite easy. All you need to do is avoid his attacks, which is quite easy since a lot of them just involve finding the right place to take cover. For example, one time he makes a "cage" with his rapid-fire beams, then puts in a rocket barrier, and then shoots huge amounts of bullets at you. Those bullets are concentrated at one point, which makes them easy to avoid and INCREDIBLY USEFUL for grazing! One can rack up immense multipliers with that! Also, on the one part where he shoots out eight rockets at once, just have them go at you, wait at the bottom of the screen, then get out of the way as soon as they are about to hit you - using Focus while doing this makes it a lot easier. This works because the rockets gain speed when going straight, and have to slow down before turning. Then they speed over the edge of the screen and disappear!

7. The 6th boss (Final) is a bullet hell master, but is again, easy if you know all his stages. Just dodge 'em bullets! ;) 8. DO NOT PRESS SHIFT AFTER BEATING THE 6th BOSS. PRESSING SHIFT AUTO-SKIPS THE TEXT (I was focusing when dodging the 6th bosses final attacks. shift, which auto-skips the text) The text congratulates you AND gives you a secret code (Which you have to find out once you beat the 6th boss) So don't hold shift when dodging the 6th bosses final fury.
Spoilers: 1. 6th boss (Final) is known as 'Tartarus' (A dark ship, small with a oval around it and black stars protecting it). 2. After you beat Atropos 2.0 you get the final item in the store, the mega-laser hull. 3. After you kill Tartarus You get 120% warp core (If it's equipped) and... 120% Warp core gives you unlimited focus.

With this setup I was able to beat both Atropos and the boss run. Every weapon and hull slot assign the top level missile parts each equipped with split and homing. For ship mods, go with the dark matter and shield. You are going to get hit so the shield reduces the damage and the missile hull increases health and regen. Save all the bombs for when Atropos sends two of his orbs to surround you. The reason for the rockets is because you can hang back in safer areas and give continues damage back.

Ohh, i miss the good old days when people wouldn't complain about the difficult and would just try to improve, now they are like OMG THAT BOSS KILLED ME THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!

Me after beating Atropos2.0: Whew, I guess i'll get something special. And then Tartarus annihilated my face in less than 10 seconds.

Very nice game! 5/5 for me. Very challenging and quite entertaining with great replay value. Just a suggestion, maybe you should add an option to use keyboard instead? It's kinda hard squeezing yourself between that 2px wide space with the "crosshair" on the way. Cheers!

Here's a Weapon Combo Guide for ya:
-Bullet-
Poison Darts - Combine with Poison. Have large spread to poison as much as possible
MOAR BULLETZ - Combine with Splitter. Large spread again to hit more enemiez :D
-Rocket-
Homing Missile - Combine with Homing. Everyone likes homing missiles, right?
Splash Rockets - Combine with Splash. This one makes sense for a frigging EXPLOSIVE rocket.
-Lazor-
WTF IS THAT - Combine with Homing. Really funny to see. No, really! Kinda defeats the purpose of the laser though.
-Plasma-
Blaster - Name makes sense but I haven't thought of a combo.
-Bomb cannon thingy (forget name)-
Dunno about this one either.
Other random tips: Use the Leech Bombs for bosses, with it you can gain health you have lost while hitting the boss. Mostly for gaining health though.
Use Focus for grazing bullets. Grazing increases your current multiplier.

I'm sick of people rating this game badly because of it's difficulty. It's one of... if not THE best bullet hell game I've seen on this site. It is really challenging but also rewarding. The first time I beat the last boss(pre boss run) was after ~1 hour of constant experimentation and I have rarely been happier at beating a game(or thinking of beating the game). + if you agree.

Seriously one of the best Bullet Hell games I have ever played. I *love* the hitbox (IMO, that tiny of a size is really only fair), and while the game *is* quite challenging, it's not impossible. Well, other than Atropos, obviously. I'm actually sure that it is entirely possible to beat him with multiple different strategies. It's just that, well. Son of a gum-chewing funkmonster. Seriously. Anyway, my only true complaint (not really a complaint) would be to add more music, and maybe add an additional option to the playlist controls that has the CPU decide what song to play when (something rapid-fire and heavy bass for when you're being swarmed by a ****ton of normal mobs, or something more grandiose for the boss fights). And the massive array of options, both for pimping your ship, and also game settings. 5/5 (One more thing: can you please at least post some kind of tips for dealing with Atropos? Seriously, it's like I'm some sort of schlock receptacle.

ur kidding when u say beat boss run to right apprentice? cause its just not right anyway. How do u defeat hyperion 2.0? He just a destroyer!

So, after all that, the question. I have tried to be as scientific as possible in my research, but there is a glaring error in my predictions which none of my assumptions can address. Is there something going on in the game besides straight damage output that would cause, for example, the laser to behave about 70% more effectively than its given DPS predicts? Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong? Also, for other players, do you guys have any idea what I am doing wrong?
