No matter what I try, Albatros kicks my ass as soon as all the hull parts are off. How am I going to survive those sick amount of bullets and those balls circling around me? I don't get it...

Tips: -You can take off the warp core when not battling a boss for 2 ship modifiers. -Max Homing + Max Split is still 90% damage of original damage. -You can hit F to change your weapons from straight ahead to the side to hit those nasty flank attacks. -When a ton of bullets is going everywhere, it's better to use focus before to see the opening then during to look for one. -When in doubt, anti-matter bombs.

A tip for the boss run: do NOT waste your bombs, you don't get them back inbetween bosses, however, you DO get to retain your focus.

I was at atropes 2.0 on the boss run and when I was about to finish him off, he did an attack that I absolutely for the life of me could not figure out how to dodge...two of the green orbs that circle him went on both sides and followed me as I moved shooting green lasers all over the place while the boss itself also shot some too

Just beat Atropos on the boss run after a ton of trial and error and I have a couple tip for people trying to beat it. I used the red hull because you WILL get hit no matter how good you are. The green one has high focus, but you need to be able to take hits. I used rocket (Split, homing), Plasma (Split, Split), Rocket (Split, Affliction) and Rocket (Split, homing) in that order. Every boss has a phases where you can get in close and deal insane amount of dmg with the plasma if you know how to dodge it correctly.I used dual shield to tank as much dmg as possible and I used Leech bomb. Leech bombs will completely refill your hp and I got to atropos before even using one. It really is about memorizing safe areas during boss routes to win boss run.

I will never beat this game because level 24 is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hands down, the best shooter that I have ever played. Tartarus battle is epic, and I like the fact that Tartarus is actually the ship from the original Reactance.

If you defeat Atropos on the Boss Run you'll gain something that will help out a lot in what comes after. I don't know whether this is dependent on the warp core being kept. The new item fills the last slot in the shop - the bottom-right most one.

I did not beat the final boss with no bombs used or no damage taken or with the warp core. I used antimatter bombs to take out his arms (melee weapons are pretty stupid for a bullet hell game) and the double shield was pretty much necessary.

For farming cash use homing lasers, 2 with split, 1 with poison 1 with affliction (poison and affliction doesn't stack) and collectors. For the first 20 levels you can pretty much breeze through without a problem. For super fast cash get antimatter bombs and kill the second boss by spamming them, it gets you tons of cash in seconds. For survival mode, use the farming build but with defense lasers. I use the green hull for lots of focus, I got up to level 46 on my second try. For level 25 I used flak, split, homing, double shields, red hull. However it was very difficult so I suggest using homing lasers instead. The attack where two of his orbs sit next to you, don't move or else you'll be hit. Then when the bullets pass hit focus and dodge the wave from him.

Be as sceptical as you want about homing lasers, but let me remind you that in the first game we had laser shooting lasers.

Vigen, rockets have fewer shots per volley than lasers and do less damage overall than lasers, especially after applying splitters. If you want high damage you need to use lasers or bullets with lasers having a faster kill speed than bullets due to being instantaneous and higher damage per shot. Lasers > Bullets > Rockets > Anything > Flak

Most of the tips I see are about (homing) lasers. Can someone explain to me why lasers are better than missiles? They have the same fire rate, but the missile has a higher damage and bullet count. I understand that lasers can hit multiple targets but it doesn't seem that useful during boss fights.

Theres 2 patterns that kills you on bossrun. 1 of hyperion (homing+spam) and 1 of atropos (2 balls hovers you and locks you in and thus no distance from the enemy core thus not creating the gap in his his spam.) Getting that fully charges warpcores is pointless for the game though. I remember doing it after hours of just waiting to get lucky with the patterns back in july 2012. Dont bother doing it people its not worth it.

yiupang9999, only the first splitter will do anything, the second is a wasted slot. You can see this by installing two and counting the number of bullets you get from that slot which will be 10 (5*2) from a max upgraded weapon. The damage should be calculated (Weapon Damage/shot)*(shot/volley)*(.6 (Homing mod damage mod)*(2*1.5 (splitter shot increase and damage boost)). With those calculations the Damage/Volley is 900 (bullets) vs 1296 (lasers) from a single weapon. The reason Damage/Volley and not Damage/Second is more important is because with homing all of the attacks from a single volley from a single laser weapon are more likely to hit because they will all instantly target the same entity while some of the bullets from a single volley will swerve to hit the same entity while others will still miss. You can load up all lasers/splitters/homing mods and sweep through a level and then switch out lasers for bullets and see the difference between the two. Lasers > Bullets

The first half of the game is really amazing, new weapon new ship, new modification. But I found that during the second half the ne weapon are not really effective. I don't feel like my ship evolve while my enemy do. I found that it would have been more fun if you get all the power up.
Nice game. Keep the good work .

ATBU just read again I can understand your confusion, it states how much of his damage is doing so on a fresh one 30% of that weapon damage with full upgrade you will do 60% of that weapon damage when using homming, so te description even when it can be a little confusing you just need to read without rushing and notice that number is the % of damage you will be doing

correct my maths
fully upgraded bullet weapon
(7+5)*5=60dmg
with 2 spit
60*2*2=240dmg per shot
laser
(15+12)*4=68
2spit
68*2*2=272dmg per shot
HCF of 8 and 15=1
LCM of 8 and 15=120
so,
240*15=3600dmg
VS
272*8=2176dmg
2176/3600=0.6044444
so, if there are 13 out of the 20 bullets hits, the dms of bullet is so far the highest out of all?

Argo 2.0, Aegis 2.0, Melpomene 2.0, Hyperion 2.0, Atropos 2.0 and now Tartarus. Do the boss run even possible without cheats?

@ATBu Look at the description again for homing, at first it reduces the damage to 30% of regular, then when it is fully upgraded it is to 60% of regular. This makes the weapons homing though, so almost always hit.
