The bombs are underpowered. Passing a level "without bombs" is usually easy if I can pass the level at all (unless I'm relying on Leech bombs to restore my health). They don't spread far enough to be effective against swarms, and don't hit hard enough to make a difference against bosses (with Leech being good for restoring health). Also, it would be nice to know the stats for the default bomb.

@kacperjab:If you want to defeat melpomene,upgrade is a must.
Then,if you are lacking of accuracy,use the "homing"weapon mod.
Actually I beat melpomene with no bomb mods and i have 4 rockets.
Its attack is pretty easy to dodge if you have a good speed.
Or simply use focus if you don't.
REMEMBER:Never get hit by its triangles!

the unknown hull and the infinite focus is just arent worth it to get :/ the only thing that is worth it is fighting that boss AFTER you beat atropos

Hyperion 2.0 weapons does too much damage. I didn't even reach Atropos 2.0 because of Hyperion 2.0. Even though the boss run is way too hard for me, its a nice game. Really easy to get research points, challenging levels, good music, and great graphics! Nice job Apprentice Chief! Keep up the great work!

This game is good, but to me it feels like it has slightly too little focus. It feels like it's trying to be a bullet *and* traditional shmup. You want to find a pattern but usually their is only the shell of one.

By now, I can defeat hyperion easily. Takes a few minutes, though.
And I do not have enough of that "skill" to beat Atropos. What do you reccomend? PM me.

To all those who feel homing lasers are anti newtonian, what's ACTUALLY happening is that the homing add-on is creating micro singularities at specific points along/near the laser's path in order to bend the light - the reason there are limitations is because it's some CRAZY voodoo math to figure where to focus the graviton waves needed to create said singularities.. yeah, newton STILL RULES! :)

Level 24 was easy for me, you can always dodge many bullets if you use
rank 5 hull the red one, so you can do it with lasers or rockets.

Tartarus is the same ship of Reactance 1, you may encounter for this..
Black Unknown Hull has hyper laser beam, you might kill him and thats what you kill tartarus. Unlock the Rank unknown hull in defeating atropos.

Right, i played through to level 25. utterly overpowered and stupidly restrictive weapon power just makes me want to not play it. Shame, as I was enjoying it until level 20 where it just got stupid. The lack of upgrades to counteract the boss bullet hell doesnt make it more challenging. A shame as its a good game with a lot of outstanding features but just mired in sloppy design at later levels.

If this game had the same impossible badge as Frantic,it would be as difficult to complete it as surviving a nuclear blast 3 feet away from you while wearing only hockey pants...

i cant understand why atrapo`s laser is so strong and his bullet hits me 30-50 and if he does those bullets then theres no way i can go though of them. anyway, theres no chance i can destroy the boss without new laboratory items.

The first levels are all well balanced. Then when you get past melpomene, the non boss enemies get 43734637 harder than the boss level. 4 deaths at hyperion and 23 at lvl 17

I managed to get to the final boss in the boss run! His name is Tartarus and i think he is the ship from the first game. I wouldnt go as far as to call him impossible but he is pretty insane.

Pretty sure the boss run is impossible the 5th boss is unbeatable with no more bombs left and apparently there is a 6th boss which must be literally impossible to beat, not impossible as in really hard but impossible as in you can't do it no matter what.
