I really hate the fact that the water isn't deep enough. I'm sorry for making you jump into space dolphin. Please forgive me...

Hot Tip! Extension seen from a previous game are loaded up in the next one! For your first run, do a leisurely swim until you find a good chain of extensions, then restart, and in the next game you can start with a big speed boost!

Man, getting the impossible badge is mostly about pure reaction time...by the time you get to mars you pretty much have a fraction of a second to turn once you hit the ocean. Get up to jupiter and you have a fraction of a fraction (which would still be just a fraction, but w/e). There's gotta be some trick I'm not understanding, because I can't imagine anyone being able to react fast enough by the time they got to any appreciable height...

Maybe the water isn't actually shallow. Maybe space isn't that low. Maybe this dolphin really is a mile long? Food for thought.

Every time this game gets BOTD I am reminded of my failings as a gamer. I once jumped high enough to see the restaurant, but not quite high enough to trigger it :(

Obviously, your not teaching it to fly, it already knows how. You are helping him to escape the planet, before it gets blown up for the interstellar bypass....

I may confirm other comments: getting to the Restaurant is a little random. You can hop off starslides instantly, hit 20 Nice Entries; I had a metric ton of Extensions and then Starslided sideways haphazardly. // Start with a vertical jump + corkscrew. // A forty-five degree jump (diagonal) // tailslide (read manual) // Use a 30 degree (half diagonal) then 20 very shallow horizon jumps, entering in such a way as to make a smooth curve with your nose. // You need a Reversal too. // Rack up combo; you should be looking at about 8 different tricks, about a paragraph's worth. Exit 45 degrees (DIAGONAL), and through Extension (preferably). // One starslide per planet past Mars. Face sideways. Starslide: press down, and then press up immediately, then repeat if you hit the same starslide. // Land, hold a directional key, up and down the second you breach the water. As you tailslide, instantly press Up; face sideways. Hit a starslide on the way up to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

This game is addictive as hell. I have felt every emotion during my playthrough, from despair to ecstasy but there's no better feeling than finally getting to that diner and seeing the impossible badge unlock. I had a great time playing this the first time in 2010 and now, I finally beat it. Much love to the devs.

Five years later I come back and revisit a game of my childhood in attempts of finally getting this bloody impossible achievement.

Yay, got the BOTD at last (travel 100 metres horizontally). This is how I got it. Repeatedly exit the water at around 20-30 degrees to the horizontal, and get a good entry back into the water each time (takes some practice). This allows the build up of a fair horizontal velocity. Then get lucky and travel through a hoop at a good horizontal velocity. Weird planet this dolphin lives on...

"Houston, we've got a problem.."
"Yes???"
"I.. I think I just saw a dolphin.."
"You saw what!?"
"A dolphin just flew by. Oh! Wait! I see it's going back down again. Yup. Def. a dolphin."
"..."

Good game. Reaching the restaurant is nearly impossible with the sea really not being deep enough. Even if i curve right / left right after entering the sea, i still can hit the bottom.

Hmmmm? moon is 50 meters from top of ocean. Mars is 150 and I am trying to get to the restraunt orbiting earth all by jumping out of 20 feet of water......
yep logic

What they didn't show on Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy was the hours each Dolphin spent building up enough speed to flee the earth.

There should be an option to change controls, trying to turn your dolphin and corkscrew while still accelerating as you fly into the ocean at 120 mph is quite the task

Man, i hate when i get lots of speed to make a good jump, but on the way down, i hit one of those loops and it makes me lose a lot of speed :/
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It is so hard to get to the Restaurant. I watched a video tutorial and you have to reach incredible speeds to get that far.

I've waited 6 long years to say this: "LOOK MOM, I GOT THE DOLPHIN OLYMPICS 2 IMPOSSIBLE BADGE!!!!" Haha you said Id never get it! You called me a retard! Haha. Who's the retard now?

Apollo 18: Sir, it appears we have an unidentified object on our radar
Captain: Well, what is it?
Apollo 18: It seems like...a dolphin

Oh man. Exactly how far is the Restaurant?! My fingers are going to break trying more than nine thousand times D:. I sux, and there's no luck for me in finding extension. -cries-

I got to mars and then I went so fast I crashed into the ocean floor at about 100 mph. Either this dolphin is immortal or it is a robot

I remember this game as the one that introduced me to Kongregate. I think it was in 2008, something like that. I kept coming back here. I never went to the restaurant. But i have never given up either. In 6 years. And today, the restaurant being at an altitude of 2000m, I achieved a height of 1995.7m. I even got a screenshot of the bottom of this restaurant !
Seriously, 6 YEARS !!!
