Under rating threshold (show) Great game! Maybe the badges are a little too easy. A sequel with hero classes, more items and more levels would be nice.

Under rating threshold (show) I think this is one of my new favorite games. I love tower defense, I love games where you have to equip the hero, I love rpgs, and I love puzzle/tetris/matching games. It's like you read my mind and mashed them all together in a highly enjoyable 8bit theater sort of way. Keep up the good work!

Under rating threshold (show) I'd like a way to tell if an enemy reaches my castle, maybe the screen flashes red for a moment or something. just so you know if you need to put all your resources in building now instead of saving up for something better

Under rating threshold (show) Great game. Found it a little easy, even on hard, not one enemy through, just spammed skybound towers then upgraded them. Very enjoyable though, 5/5.

Under rating threshold (show) Some suggestion I feel would improve the game: A sound+music on/of switch accessible in game. Some way to control the hero, either by giving him a "patrol" area he stays inside, or something like the towers, highest hp, first, last, ect. Especially in survival mode, I keep wishing I had some way to go back to previous gathering areas, to find more iron or wood, so allowing you to click and return to areas you've already unlocked would be nice. I'm also not 100% clear on whether orb effects can stack, and how they do, it would be nice if that were explained somewhere, in addition to the stats. ex: two strike orbs grant 100% chance for +50%, two 50% chances they can occur together and stack, or if strike/flame orbs affect poison orbs.

Under rating threshold (show) The meeting of several different genres is tricky terrain to traverse, but combining TDs and RPGs seems to work nicely if done correctly. This is a wonderful example of that. That, along with the arcade element, makes me wonder if this game started as 3 separate games, then combined into one (perhaps, but I may be wrong). Anyways, it's a wonderful game. I've always enjoyed Defense games and RPGs, and this is a pretty good combination of the two. The only negative thing that I found personally was the lack of satisfaction of defeating the monsters. Aside from experience for the Prince and being that much closer to successfully finishing the level, I didn't feel like there was much reward for it. Anyways, great job.

Under rating threshold (show) maps become really easy if you have really high stats. Like 300+ but you still need towers to defeat maps.

Under rating threshold (show) i don't understand the item system..oO if I have a 33 shield...with +18 def and +32 agl...i only have +18 def at all? not +51? and how do I increase strength? weapons have no effect at all.. :/ help!

+ - !

Developer response from Arkeus

The armor value and defense item on armors aren't the same (but they both provide you with damage reduction). And the weapon damage and strength value are also different (but both increase attack damage). Weapon Damage and Armor are values based on the item itself, while strength and defense are bonuses that any item can have.

Under rating threshold (show) Such a simple concept, but such an addictive game. I can easily see how it'd be difficult if hard mode was a little harder, but aside from that, it's a very well done game.

Under rating threshold (show) So far I like it, but one issue I have is how I had to put the orbs in those slots. Initially I thought you were supposed to drag them onto the towers, and it took a while to notice the orb slots.

Under rating threshold (show) Too easy and repetitive. Lost 0 lives on all hard difficulties first try and always would have a lot of left over minerals, for the last level i had like 60 unused blue, 40 unused green, etc. The hardest level was level 1 honestly because your hero isnt equipped with anything and it forces you to quickly get towers. Later on the hero is sufficient for defense for the first minute or so, and allows you to match wood and iron for a while, build some towers, upgrade them, then match like crazy and have green unlocked and etc. By end of game you have so much abundance left over.

Under rating threshold (show) So apparently you can't complete the first level if you didn't realize click+shift deleted the gem so that you couldn't equip it to a tower. errrr...

Under rating threshold (show) Looks fun; I like the fusion of concepts. Too bad I'm playing on a phone, so precision dragging (e.g., gems) is nearly impossible. Seems too soon to ask, but: think we'll see a mobile-optimized version?

Under rating threshold (show) My two cents on strategy. - Your main tower is going to be the Swift tower. Less range, but you can minimize the drawback by placing them in corners, and for the price they have a great damage/time ratio. Upgrade when you have resources to spare and monsters will be hard pressed to get through. Gems that improve damage (or depend on it, such as the poison gem) work well in Skybound towers, while gems that don't (e.g. frost and justice gems) are more suited to Sweep towers. - Depending on the Prince's level/equipment, he can handle the first few enemies that appear. Ignore the map and focus on gem matching, and by the time things get serious you'll have enough wood to place several towers (and possibly do a couple upgrades). - Equipment is useful, but don't go overboard. Time spent agonizing over gear minutiae is time not spent building towers that will keep you safe. Or, alternately, building experience. Same goes for gems; don't micromanage.

Under rating threshold (show) Honestly, this is one of the best games I've played on Kongregate in a long time. It gives you time to strategize while also giving you frantic fast-paced gameplay. The gem swapping and TD genres are blended together really well here. I really can't think of a meaningful way to improve the game.

Under rating threshold (show) Quite a simple game; I simply rushed for wood at the beginning and spam the strongest tower. Then, try to alternate between stone/wood; upgrading or building new sweep towers dependent on which is quicker. Occasionally match gem and equipment, then pause to manage them before continuing. As long as you make leveling the character your main priority, winning the game is simple as character level + equipment will carry over to new level. Despite the innovative and the simple design of the game, it lack intuitive gameplay for new players. Furthermore, I concentrate so much on resource gathering that I finally ignore to look at how my tower is doing at all; resulting in certain lack of fun. [4/5]

Under rating threshold (show) Solid idea. Props for not making it a match 3, as well :) I'd prefer it, tho, if the resource gathering was just a little less mechanical and a little more cerebral. Plus, I didn't find it very challenging, I could do with a much harder difficulty level.

Under rating threshold (show) Suggestion: could there perhaps be a way implemented to easily compare your equipped armor/weapon to the ones in your inventory? It's a bit of a hassle to constantly mouse-over back and forth.

Under rating threshold (show) It's really hardcore to get 3 stars after third map. Game mechanics are awesome and fresh, but it's rly difficult to manage gathering resources, equipping hero and building/upgrading towers at the same time. Variety of resources gives to player many game styles, and it's hard question what actions are better: level up hero, stock on resources to improve defense, gain items or orbs etc. And i dont get completely what are these words below mini-game (Vault, Forest etc) for

Under rating threshold (show) Okay, I got stuck while trying to apply the gems to a tower. I tried dragging the gems directly on top of a tower, but it didn't work. The mouse-over tooltip said "shift+click to drop", so (after my previous failed attempts) I thought that MAYBE that would mean "drop onto the tower". And now I have no gems, and I can't complete the tutorial. (and I've just noticed the middle-bottom section of the screen) TL;DR: I failed to complete the tutorial. (I guess I deserve a badge for that!)

Under rating threshold (show) It takes a while getting used to having to gather resources, but after that it's a great game. My only critisicm is that it's incredibly difficult to build and gather at the same time as watching my towers kill stuff. I like RobinT3's idea of game phases, or at least some way of gathering resources automatically rather than sliding all the time. Perhaps a "Human" bonus where all resources go up automatically at a certain pace for a few seconds?

Under rating threshold (show) If you play the first level on Normal mode, you can move the puzzle during the tutorial. As long as you never build a tower, you can just keep going and no enemies will show up. You can't really do a whole hell of a lot, but I did get my guy to lvl 13 before I got bored and beat the level finally

Under rating threshold (show) Really epic game, might have been a bit harder in my opinion, though. I managed to last for over 45 minutes on the first try I had on an endless map, and rushed through the hard story mode without a single loss (not even 1 enemy reaching the fort). Apart from that, really great game, liked it better than popular TD's such as Cursed Treasure :) Definitly 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) whoops meant to say "without equips" as in the stats without anything on also, the heck is the prince doing? is he attacking enemies randomly? he SHOULD be attacking the enemies closer to base, otherwise he's not helping compared to the towers (that i ALWAYS set to attack the ones nearer to base)
