98 and no badge, one upgrade away, I landed and it lagged but the timer kept going, so I failed and didn't get the badge. This game is the worst game I have ever played on Kongregate, and a terrible choice for BOTD.

This is legitimately one of the worst optimized pieces of garbage I've ever seen on this site. This game is absolute crap. How can something this simplistic run like total crap on a rig that can run the latest high-end titles without a glitch? What special kind of mental deficiency went into programming this?

It was pretty good when it came out but now it's really showing how out-dated it is, he gameplay is simple and the controls are just awful. So unresponsive to the keyboard but I suppose that's how technology goes.

How to badge of the day and max upgrades:
1. Max out bombers and bouncers. You really don't need to worry about combos too much at this stage, but you can get some pretty nice ones doing this.
2. Max out miners. This gives you the easiest setup to get points.
3. Farm points. You should be leveling at least until your next level takes 1600+ xp to reach. At this point you should be able to maximize both homing and gunner. This will make the BOTD medium 90 badge easy as you have unlimited fuel.
4. Make sure to have boom, get boosted to about 80 via the gunners, and hit boost.
5. Enjoy easy farming for the combo badges, as you have infinite fuel once the full upgrading is done.

I'm all for a challenging game, but these guys are right. You should be able to finish your combo after fuel runs out. It's super frustrating to beat the clock AND get past all of the missiles and ships to land. Great game in every other way.

i got all the badges and achievements in one run... didnt even die. just buy the cheapest upgrades all the time. better all types and 30 enemies on screen than 10 bombers and 3 miners.

1 star simply because you run out of fuel when you're in the air and explode on top of that. Twice I was two upgrades away from getting the badge and I couldn't get on the ground.....

So you blow up when you are out of fuel ... Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't fuel kinda a key component to blowing up?

It sure would be nice to be able to adjust the quality of the graphics after you're in-game instead of picking the wrong setting and being stuck with it.

Soldier: Sir, we couldn't even scratch our enemy with all of our squad's attack. Also it seems that our enemy is using ours own crafts as key elements for a chain reaction, further increasing his reach. But intel found that the enemy has no weaponry and is virtually harmless at distance. Shall we dig a trench and lure him there, sir? Captain: No! Keep sending tanks and aircrafts, release him hell!!

Badge Hunters: For getting as far as you can, Homers are not your friend. Take none of them, even if you have excess points and have maxed everything else. When you get to about 2500 points in reserve, max Homers, and there's your badge. This puts you in infinite mode, where those Homers will vault you to the next badge. Good luck!

This game may have had "really good graphics" in 2008, but all that can be said for it now is that it has really poor coding and rendering. The fact that my machine can't run this game properly, even with all of the extras turned off is astounding.
