Fun, reasonably difficult. It lags pretty bad in large rooms with lots of particles. Something to reduce quality for slower computers would be helpful, or even just something to reduce/limit the number of particles on-screen.

Err . . . I believe Master Hitchcock said best when he said, and this applies here, "A boy's best friend is his mother." That said, this is a beautiful, haunting game.
4.5/5

when i saw the core i told myself "oohh shiny! this should make me like 50x more powerful!" then after i got it i was like "oh my god horrible mistake..."

Great story line, good development "tree", great ending. Challenging and fun. I also <3ed the words built in on the lower levels, and the Escape in Camera 3 (that you only notice after you get your eyes). 5/5

@Focus: Go to the room with the tall vertical tunnel with the lifting jet. (I forget which camera, its at the top right of the area) You have to double jump in the lift stream. It'll take a few tries.

I want to like this more than I do, but it is deeply irritating to have to clear each room over and over every time you go back into it.

wow the music is absolutely wonderful. It matches the game 100%. Great job, and I also love the story. It's definitely a touchy story. I can really connect to it, it is very creepy in a way and scary, but sad at the same time.

-Spoilers- For people who quited the game after the badge, and couldn't get all the metal places, the final text is: "It's kind of like Metroid" K = Kind/ O = Of/ L = Like/ M = Metroid - K.O.L.M. Click [+] for everyone know...

Ok i just spent like an hour re-completing the game. I tried (1) getting to the escape within 3 mins; (2) failing to escape in 3 mins; (3) escaping without getting the piece that makes the place self-destruct; (4) rushing to that place with all the gold force fields (in the green background area) only to find that there is nothing special there; (5) completing after getting all the pieces (the metal pieces with letters on them).
There doesn't seem to be any different endings, except if you escape without making the place self-destruct by not taking the piece protected by the mesh of golden forcefields (in the red area). Anyone knows any different?

I did some research, there isn't anything annoyingly, and it seems after the countdown, your shield turns off, meaning you die. when that happens, you get reset to the core. also, this explains why you don't have the shield in the second game, the countdown ended.

The game isn't starting. I've tried it on Firefox and Chrome, I've tried KOLM2. As ExTamago said: Camera 24, 99 Lives, even "M" and "Q" don't work. I've already reported this under "Game bug".

please, to all the game-developers, german keybords do have the "y" on the place of the "z", its a pain to play with shortkeys so far apart

there IS an alternate ending. after escaping the first time, click continue game on the menu screen and it will bring you to camera 34. Simply walk left and destroy the yellow gates by pressing "up" and shoot. get the power core and enjoy! (nothing happens after the countdown reaches zero, so theres no rush to escape) + this up so everyone can enjoy this game to its full potential

And now, I have an eternity to wait for reading the message at the final area. Good thing I didn't picked that disco ball...

I have feeling that the mother does love you because if you let the escape time go past zero it will start going into the negatives, + so people can see.

I restarted the game to see what would happen when you didn't escape, YOU TROLL! You gave me a heart attack! For those who want to know too the time goes negative and continues counting.

The story is REALLY REALLY nice, it drives the game, however the gameplay is tedious, although. I'm not disappointed, the ending was nice, even though nothing happens after the timer hits zero, or if you don't destroy the core, (Seriously, huge gameplay flaws right there) Of course I made it easily, it wasn't hard to make it there before the zero, (Another disappointment). But I digress, the music was fantastic and the story kept me interested throughout the game, the music was especially good at the end, my heart was pounding just from how intense it was. Still 5/5, (Definitely better than most Kongregate games, I'm tired of upgrade games!) although the game could have been EPIC, if the gameplay and artwork were just as good as the music and story.

I feel so bad about the ending because on my first playthrough i didn't destroy the facility. then on the second game i felt sad because i didn't do it on my first run.
