Finished the hard badge (and the medium one) on my first try, it's really easy if you use these guidelines: 1. (not day one, just 1.): upgrade the nail. 2. research artillery 3. from now on, all you'll need is to repair 10 times. I escaped by day 10 using this strategy. Good luck! Remember to use the birds to kill the dinosaurs whenever you can!

BlackWaltzX has the right idea but you don't need to upgrade the nail, just flail away at the large balloons with the rusty nail. Be sure that you get the nail outside the Balloons image each time before the down stroke or it won't register. Only upgrades you need are artillery and water, other than that be sure to use the birds well as they are probably your best weapon. Racer232 the ship is full of gun powder and flying lamps.

I just beat it by buying artilary as soon as i could. Then i just bought repairs untill i won.
My ship only got hit twice so its not overly hard. I also has about 2,000$ left extra

theres like a huge time where no enemies come, and this lowers the cash flow by a lot.
I had 46000 and got like 7000 each from the last two waves, on the 11th wave, i only got 3000

@hockey90 the mouse cursor IS the magnet.
I thought surely I could afford to upgrade just the droplet and the nail. $180 short on repairing at the end of day 11.

/sigh 10 sort of 11 days, and 3rd time that happened to me in a row. Ah well next time i will get it! but still a fun game 5/5

Congratulations! You just won the Consumer Restraint Badge and 30 points! All you have to do is buy is Artillery... Upgrade nothing else!

I think this is a great game. If there is a sequel, you should be able to buy weapons not unlocking them. There could also be a free play mode where you have all the weapons. You would also have all the upgrades. After you fully repair the ship in expert mode you would sail away from and the island and fend off sea creatures for about five levels and then you would win.I think this is a very good game.

why are people complaining they cant make it under 11 days? just upgrade the rusty nail and buy artillery to defeat the golems and the rusty nail to pop the big balloons thats it.from there just save your money and you will get the hard badge.

Hard badge guide:
1. Only buy the artillery for those red golems and the gold nail for the floating balloons.
2. After buying those two upgrades, just repair as soon as you can.
3. I was able to repair my ship within 11 days with no enemies hitting my ship.
Tips:
1. Cage the birds when they are above large groups of enemies! The bombs they drop do as much damage as your artillery, so instead of spending $20, cage the birds at the right moment! (bird's bomb can't hit the floating balloons, which is why you should upgrade your nail to make your life easier)
2. Get the fast moving units first such as the red flames that fly.

For those who are bugged and don't see the magnet, it's the menu option one left of the rusty spoon. Click on it then click/drag/toss the rollerballs to the water.
