*Fire all my support at the enemy*
ONE SOLDIER HIT, YES!!!
*Enemy fires back with mortars*
NO, ALL MY SQUADS!!!! FUUUUUUUUUU

I use this game every year when I teach my lesson on WW I trench warfare to my students. Sure it may not be that historically accurate but it does get the point across that there was a lot of casualties.

This game really has some problems, I'm mostly enjoying it, but i have 10-1 units vs the Germans, pushed all 3 trenches with 3 squads each, full green bar, they airstrike and it kills like 5 people and we surrender... The morale system is based on units lost and not control of the field which doesn't make any sense. Tired of losing rounds that I'm winning.

"Well, we've lost one squad to their five, we've taken all four of their trenches and destroyed two of their tanks without losing one, what say we just lose all hope and surrender?"

soo, the enemy has one man left standing and almost zero morale. I do a celebratory mortar and it hits one of my men, instantly depleting my morale and making me lose.

What I like about this game is how realistic it is. Most of the details of trench warfare are reproduced. This is one of the best free WWI games on the internet.

This game is so confusing. We killed more enemies, deployed fewer squads, lost fewer squads, took more trenches (and held them the entire game), and used the same amount of support. Why did my troops surrender?

It's awesome how the Germans have the miraculous ability to avoid mines while my own soldiers almost seem to be looking for them.

Private: "Sir, there are Germans running towards our trenches, what do we do?"
Sergeant: "We let them walk right over our trenches, duh."

The enemy has one general, when I have two tanks and two waves of rifleman right at their trench... and my men run out of morale? What kind of sissies are these guys?

This game's morale system can create some pretty hilarious moments. I would have been upset if I didn't find it so funny.

It's kind of ridiculous that the enemy can artillery strike me every... 10 seconds while i have to wait like... 5 mins and that the enemy usually hits my men 80% of the time, yet when i try to assault them when they are in a trench or use my fully upgraded artillery, I hit them 20% of the time. It gets annoying after an amount of time :l.

"Sir, don't you think we should wait for the artillery to stop firing, and the poison to clear". "I'm the fricking commander, You'll do as I say, and I say ******* charge into that trench that is currently udner our own fire.

sniper: wow a trench full of 50 men time for target practise!
10mins latter....
captin: lets kill that wanker
sniper: ow shiiii.....!!!

Those german snipers are pretty BA. One sniper killed two of my guys while they were standing 5 meters apart side to side. Crazy.

this game is cool..... up to the point on the final mission and your just about to win then BOOM "don't hurt me I SURRENDER!"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
WHAT??? THE BEEP???? I sent a assault squad to aid a riflemen squad. Two riflemen were left but we were almost at the end. A enemy riflemen squad was fighting my assault squad but the two friendly riflemen floated across the trench went through the enemies and finished.

NIGHT WORK, "Sir the Germans are sleeping,' So what..you cant sneak up on them.", "Well lets see then,' Hey John get back here don't make me start counting!"

It was a great game until the last level came down to chance. Does your anti-tank take out theirs on the first strike? Yes: you win. No: you're screwed. Fix your game balance. Also, give us a chance to respec. I spent all my points building my army not realizing none of it made a difference on the last level. Major fix needed.

The game is kind of unbalance, before tanks are introduced, wars can be won by summoning one or no troops, while keep spawning poison gas in enemy-condensed area, and have an easy win by sweeping enemy's morale. After the tank is introduced, it is basically a tank battle game as there is no reason to summon the other lousy troops

My Soldiers took more Trenches.
Lost less Gun and killed more than the Enemy.
Yet still my men gave up at the very last trench 10feet away from victory. gg

If you're having trouble with the last level try what I did, just use tanks and fire support. No infantry, just keep sending tanks as fast as you can

If you can't get the "Crossing the Line" Badge in normal gameplay, you can play a custom battle. Set difficulty to easy, enable tank and riflemen,enable"anti-tank" for fire support and set map length to short(or whatever you like). Put some riflemen in a trench and wait until tank is available. Then put a tank and see the tank roll to the end. When the Germans put a tank, use anti-tank. Hope this helps!
