I just lost with full morale and my trench filled with 3 squads. I can honestly say that was the dumbest loss I've ever had and I don't even know why.

I notice the British soldiers sometimes say "fall back". What is this "fall back" they speak of? I've never seen it before.

the moral algorithm really needs to be reviewed... if I'm in the last trench closing in on the enemy, brought down three tanks, with men still in my trenches, it makes no sense to surrender.

"Shoot! I didn't mean to click on artillery strike! No matter, I'll just send out my troops and then select the blasting area." *Click. "NOOOO!!!" By the way, would be nice if there was a deselect for artillery barrages.

So I guess this is the moment where I stop getting shinies, or kongpanions in general. Supernova SWF Enabler will not play this game. Nor on browser, nor on a separate window. Other games work on separate windows, but I cannot get their achievements this way. I guess this is truly the point where Kongregate dies. If you have any idea on how can I play games here and still get the achievements, please tell me. I'm dying to know.

For those having trouble with this game; a very valid strategy is to ignore infantry upgrades and put every point into fire support upgrades (Make sure to get ressuply and barrage of fire asap). Take a defensive stance, just use lewis gunners and/or regular infantry to defend your first trench, when the trench is full, don't get any additional reinforcements yet, they will just die and decrease your morale) Keep bombarding the enemy with everything you have and watch their morale break. When in control, try to take an additional trench with assaults and a tank or 2, then secure it with lewis gunners. Works like a charm :)

I use this game every year when I teach my lesson on WW I trench warfare to my students. Sure it may not be that historically accurate but it does get the point across that there was a lot of casualties.

This game really has some problems, I'm mostly enjoying it, but i have 10-1 units vs the Germans, pushed all 3 trenches with 3 squads each, full green bar, they airstrike and it kills like 5 people and we surrender... The morale system is based on units lost and not control of the field which doesn't make any sense. Tired of losing rounds that I'm winning.

soo, the enemy has one man left standing and almost zero morale. I do a celebratory mortar and it hits one of my men, instantly depleting my morale and making me lose.

What I like about this game is how realistic it is. Most of the details of trench warfare are reproduced. This is one of the best free WWI games on the internet.

This game is so confusing. We killed more enemies, deployed fewer squads, lost fewer squads, took more trenches (and held them the entire game), and used the same amount of support. Why did my troops surrender?

It's awesome how the Germans have the miraculous ability to avoid mines while my own soldiers almost seem to be looking for them.
