The Germans had tanks to kill off my men, fire support to fend off my tanks, reinforcing soldiers and they surrender to one guy on their territory.

@Dizzula: I agree. There are plenty of game that have gotten badges recently that could be chosen for being BotD instead of one that seems to keep popping up once every 2-3 months.

Damn, badge of the day for 2 weeks straight? I already played this game long enough last week to get the first 3 easy badges, so I got the BOTD today instantly.

to anyone having an infuriating time with the later missions you need to kinda break the game mechanics: the morale loss rate is set really high and there are a LOT of mines, so if you spawn more troops than you absolutely have to you have a 100% chance of auto-surrendering no matter how overwhelmingly you are winning the fight.
you need to hold back on making troops as much as possible and just abuse the support powers for all they are worth (almost literally).

I cannot express what BS this game is. I've seen my own guys "explode" (3 or 4 guys die simulatenously) 20 times. I've not seen the enemy do that ONCE. They are firing artillery before mine is half way ready. This is atrocious.

And then they send 6 Germans, they last several seconds. I send 6 Allies. They're dead before they kneel. 2/5 for a good concept and fine graphics.

The interface is brutal. The scrolling doesn't work half the time. And the fire support - you wait, wait, wait and then you click on it and it you wait some more or it never comes. HEH?!?

Last level. Struggling a bit at first, but eventually take out 3 tanks, I take the first trench on the enemy side. I'm in a great position, so I send in defensive units, and prepare to take the last trench and win, and then "Your morale is depleted, your troops surrendered!" .....I'm done.

You know what'd be great? If I had any control whatsoever over the game. 1 path, soldiers don't listen they just move forward when a trench is full, and it's basically pure rng on how a battle vs entrenched turns out even uses stuff supposedly good against it. I watched 4 assault teams die to 3 normal riflemen because their guns apparently do nothing and they kept throwing grenades into the wrong spot. 2/5, the game is basically pointless to play.

I liked the 1944 versoin of the game, but this is not soo good. First, you have to choose the britons.. Than on first try on every level the enemy has very high mortar accuracy, sometimes killing 2 units in a trench wounding the third, while you can kill noone with your mortar. The red cross is much smaller than your hit area. If you try the same level next time, it goes normal.

I got the 3 easy badges in 17 minutes. Very nice! I had a little trouble in the second battle, but then I just used the first troop type because they are faster and I won. In the third battle I used machine guns in the trench and locked the trench, so they don't run away.

Right, so I've deployed 10 squads and lost 2. They deployed 6 squads and lost 4. I killed 44 of them, they killed 12 of mine. I occupied the entire battlefield and both trenches and then lost because morale was low and my guys decided to surrender. Goodbye.

If you can't get the "Crossing the Line" Badge in normal gameplay,you can play a custom battle. Set difficulty to easy,enable tank and riflemen,enable"anti-tank" for fire support and set map length to short(or whatever you like). Put some riflemen in a trench and wait until tank is available. Then put a tank and see the tank roll to the end. When the Germans put a tank,use anti-tank. Hope this helps!
