Well strangely i played far better at hardened difficulty and mind you my first play was on recruit so difficulty jump was really big, that's why i lost 3 times. But despite that i played far better, reason for lies probably in upgrades. On my first time i upgraded equipment tree, thinking that support and other things will play a big role like in 1917, how was i wrong. It's better to invest in infantry upgrades, and from equipment tree take only better accuracy for mortar strike and faster movement for tank.

dangit the nazis put 3 bazooka teams in the middle of the map hiding behind one of the only covers. 3 bazooks wrecked about 3 of my tanks before i sent in enough suicide infantry to over run them

It would also be neat to have a lock ability like in 1917 so that troops will ignore cover I no longer need so I dont need to be constantly babysitting units miles back from the frontlines

Really intense when the Panzer comes too close and you just have a few soldiers with rifles xD. luckily my last mortar guy on the rearguard save these morons just in time. 5 Seconds later a Captain appears and 2 squads of riflemans leads the attack towards the enemy line while a german plane flew over their heads firing a bullethell rain, Was an epic victory. :D

The Armor Convoy mission is dumb af... it takes way to long for the bazooka teams to get their asses out there... plus when the tanks are close to your side, they kill your units before they even get on the screen.

In the first game, assault teams were so important. Now it seems like spamming riflemen give a better and cheaper result.

Would be nice if a few things were made more realistic but love it 5/5. Some things that annoy me though is that tanks can shoot troops I have behind them across the map, enemy stacks behind bunkers but I cant, and no matter how many times I shoot the enemy motor or call in a officer they always have bombs flying everywhere the kill my officer before he can even order it. Great game overall though, evil tanks.

That moment when you win a level and your men are cheering, but a German artillery strike is still coming so 6 of your guys are blown apart while everyone continues to cheer

This may be more than common, but this game really needs a "Hold Ground" command, my officers are breaking cover and getting gunned down in the middle of an open area, my snipers seem to want to lead every charge, and my bazooka teams can't grasp the concept of "the tank will kill you if you stand up right now."

There is some sort of sick satisfaction after seeing an enemy sniper (or any enemy for that matter) fly 20 feet up in the air and land 10 feet from his original position after getting hit by a grenade.

I think if they make a sequal to this I would love to see it based in WWII. Maybe with some of the fall back and hold position commands like mentioned above. Also It would be cool to not just pick between two sides but pick your theatre of war and your side. For example have the eastern and pacific fronts to choose between too and have each nationality/army have different upgrades available to them and so on.

I've noticed it's really easy to destroy enemy tanks by having a few assault squads and spamming grenades at them. Also maintains effectiveness against infantry so in many ways superior to the bazooka team.

DONE. Hardened mode campaign without any upgrades. It is possible by spamming out rifles like no tomorrow. Occasional officer is helpful but not always needed. If the enemy tank is at a flank, IGNORE IT. Better to get flanked by a tank than losing so much against it.
