there should be a way to group up soldiers who are the last man standing and a guard command for squads to protect the officers because they die too easily alone. It also makes me kind of sad when one of my officers break rank and just walk right up to a group of enemies, even when I dont tell him to move.plus a medic would be cool too. This is about my favorite game on kongregate and they should make a sequel.like the Korean war or vietnam war[For a chance to add Flamethhrowers!]

I-I don't understand. My two snipers are killing everyone in sight but my morale is dropping faster than a fat guy down a hill.

As a fan of 1917, I have greatly enjoyed this game. I was expecting a clone of 1917, with a simple re-skin of the units. However, there have been many improvements to the gameplay mechanics( infantry being able to use grenades, flanking), that to me it feels like a whole new game. My only complaint is perhaps having to manually advance the units. If there were perhaps a hotkey, or a way to automatically advance the units, that'd be great.

How I got the hard badge with two extra upgrade points and bet the last level in under 2 minutes: 1) Upgrade Post haste, resupply inbound, in good supply ASAP 2) Upgrade ballistics, take cover, the two tank upgrades and one mortor upgrade in whichever order works for you. 3) send infantry based on the path they are taking, if there are open barricades send .50 cals if there are enemies behind barricades send Assult teams. If there are no barricades I just sent Riflemen. I sent my tanks at the bottom or top so they can only take fire from 2 rows of enemies. Against tanks use Bazooka & riflemen combo. rifle men are good for drawing fire of more expensive infantry such as tanks, assault teams andd bazooka to take extra fire because they are cheap.

My way of solving the hoards of enemies behind that stupid cover is to use an officer to call on air support and aim at the darned spot. Use the cheapest units to cover the officer. Repeat.

If you're going to make the game balanced, don't do it in a cheap cop-out way that makes the player feel cheated. Exhibit A - enemy troops can gather in large numbers behind single cover objects, but the player's troops cannot. Totally arbitrary, especially since the original title allowed three squads to take the same cover at once. It would have been less squirrely to have large gatherings of troops cause a reduction in morale on either side, such that balance must be maintained for long-lasting use of cover. However, the introduction of lanes was a good move for this title, and allowed for some more complex mechanics and advanced tactics, even if the campaign is still too short to fully flesh those tactics out (yes, even considering half is unavailable!). I would also have liked to see a random battle feature. I give this game the rank of Lieutenant-General - three stars.

The best strategy? Rush 'em with cheap rifle squads and assault teams, with a mortar in the middle lane to scrape enemies out of cover before your squads arrive. I've managed no squads lost games this way.

I really liked this game. Only flaw I could think of would be the amount of points given to buy more perks. It seems too small to really unlock the good stuff. Of course, maybe I didn't do a good job saving them.

Soldier 1: Barrage Incoming! Officer 1: Get your men to cover! Officer 2: There 1 enemy left, i got him! The town is ours! Soldier 2: WE WON! *soldiers stand up and cheer* Officer 1: But, guys, the barrage is still coming. we should get down! Soldier 1: HOORAY!!!!! ARRGH! and then everyone dies as usual

*assault team reaches entrenched position* "sir, we're there tell us what to do!" "fire your puny pellet guns and dont bother throwing grenades as it wastes your energy" "yes sir" *gets shot by a .30 cal* "You guys need better pellet gun training!"

Hardened Mode in a Nut Shell:
"Hey guys, lets not duck behind cover like the Germans do. Load our guns with marshmallows, and forget about that sniper picking us off, somehow from his drop point, and just continue to do nothing about it. Oh, and Mortar guys, load those with watermelons. LETS WIN THIS WAR."
Nice difficulty curve, by the way.

they should run instead of walk I mean what if airstrike is right over them and just walk like like ha ha i'm invincible

Great excellent game
Suggestions:
1)Multiplayer
2)Be able to retreat, maybe could be bought as an upgrade? Or automatic option could be used.

Rockets should do double damage if they're being attacked from a lane above or below them. Tanks have weaker armor on the sides and rear.

Soldier : Commander, shal we attack the enemy that's right next to us?
Commander : No, they don't see us. Instead, we should attack the tank right in front of us!"
Soldier : But the bazooka team is already engaging them.
Commander : Shut up private!

Hard badge pro tip: don't even bother with Officer, Machine Gun or Bazooka units. Just Zerg Rush the Riflemen down either just the top or bottom lane, and throw in an Assault Team if you have 600 or more built up. The exception to the Bazooka is if there are tanks; then make sure there are two Bazooka units, one behind the other, and have the second one advance if the first one is killed. This won't work exactly the same each time. You'll have to play around with the finer points to adjust the Bazooka levels, but the Zerg Rush tactic has always worked for me to beat Hardened Mode.

sir there is a tank up there and alot of men should we go or stay in cover? no! we run up there and explode to death got it? now you go first(commander runs for his life while rookie explodes)

It would be better if you either had total control over your troops or none. Nothing more frustrating than troops advancing without orders and dying

I found it! It has been a long time, but this is my favorite browsergame ever! I wish they would make a complete game without bugs out of this! THANK YOU!

Well strangely i played far better at hardened difficulty and mind you my first play was on recruit so difficulty jump was really big, that's why i lost 3 times. But despite that i played far better, reason for lies probably in upgrades. On my first time i upgraded equipment tree, thinking that support and other things will play a big role like in 1917, how was i wrong. It's better to invest in infantry upgrades, and from equipment tree take only better accuracy for mortar strike and faster movement for tank.

There are mortars and artillery shells raining on our heads, but we won the battle, so let's stop moving and celebrate.

dangit the nazis put 3 bazooka teams in the middle of the map hiding behind one of the only covers. 3 bazooks wrecked about 3 of my tanks before i sent in enough suicide infantry to over run them

It would also be neat to have a lock ability like in 1917 so that troops will ignore cover I no longer need so I dont need to be constantly babysitting units miles back from the frontlines

Really intense when the Panzer comes too close and you just have a few soldiers with rifles xD. luckily my last mortar guy on the rearguard save these morons just in time. 5 Seconds later a Captain appears and 2 squads of riflemans leads the attack towards the enemy line while a german plane flew over their heads firing a bullethell rain, Was an epic victory. :D
Nice game ArmorGames.
