I have three letters to describe what has me finding this game years after playing it - O, S, T. The title theme to this game is beautiful and the melody was embedded in my mind until I came back to this page and found it.

Fun fact: there's a building near the top of the game map that you can find the devs and the music composer in. They can't kill you, don't worry!

oh hey there are some humans with guns , i'll beat them up and take the gun ... or i'll just take a rock they appear to be guarding , use it on a switch and take a gun that is behind the door. oh game , y u so silly

One issue: in the final building, it is possible to open the door that needs to be opened, die after going through it without having saved at a save point after it, and then revive so as to find the door unopenable next time. Then the game can't be completed.

I like this game. The atmosphere is great and I did like the music for awhile. The gameplay is fun though I think it went down when I got the gun. It ends rather abruptly and as for the story, I'm left thinking "ok, what now?" My only real complaint is that a few things weren't clear. I didn't know to blow up the generator because it had a "!", which up until then had meant "interact with space". I thought the "emergency trigger" to lower the bridge was a pickup.

Loved it, haven't seen one of these in a long time, I thought things like endeavor or kalevale were over with on this site. Loved this game so much 5/5, favorite and added to the playlist with my other special games

To think how much trouble, death and destruction they could have saved by offering to house the girl and her dad in the facility in exchange for the occasional blood or tissue sample.

...I one-upped punching the father and son, this time. This time, I just left the father in his cage. Ha. That's what he gets for teaching me to 'fight' before I release him.

Strictly speaking, the right thing to do when somebody develops a mysterious immunity to a plague or environmental condition would be to study them, yes, but also to let that person survive to have as many children as possible. An inherited immunity may be the best chance for humanity in such a scenario.

*Watches ending*... You ****ing dick, Jon! The fact that the last hope for the human race happens to be your daughter doesn't justify condemning the world to die in order to get her back. Lily even told him they didn't hurt her!
@mbalzeshari I'm guessing subject X was their attempt to synthesize a cure from a fellow hazmat. That's why they needed Lily, because she wasn't exposed to pollutants or radiation... ever, due to being immune.

on the first boss fight when it is shooting stuff at you, you can pause the game and the acid things keep on going until they dissapear

Note to self, and any others: Zombies love Roco Cola. Or at least the house/thing with the roco cola sign on it. Stay away from there.

whyyyyyyy! Whyyy don't you save the game at save points AUTOMATICALLY? I navigated away from the game page when fighting Subject X, just to find out "Load game" is not active on return. Not going through the whole game again.

While fighting Subject X (and dying), I looked up at my TV, just to read "mutant genes" on the Science 2.0 channel. Creepy.

Theres a glitch: when u defeat the Final Boss and then u go to your daughter and u jump onto the table u fall right through the floor.. i almost had to start over because of that please fix it

As "Subject X" is mentioned, I started to think it might be the name given to... no. That's not possible. Of course it's not my daughter... right? I'll find out when I beat the game, but right now the tension is killing me.

Great pacing and gameplay, but unused rooms and repetitive backdrops paired with a cliched plot covers this amazing Metroidvania with a boring wrapper. 4/5

Still, after quite a long time by now, one of the best free flash games ever to be made. I takes me back to my childhood and all the nice memories, thank you for this game. Make a sequel btw ;) Pretty please!
thanks! evoking childhood nostalgia is a huge compliment. a sequel unfortunately seems improbable since i've taken on a 'real' job, but before that happened we had time to finish another game. like i say it's not a sequel but it's based on the same engine. we're in the polishing stages and are expecting to release very soon!
