Behold the majestic and mighty SNAIL. Despite being preyed upon by a wide range of species, the SNAIL can not only fire off a variety of weapons to defend itself but also can thrive in almost any environment.
If it were not for the slow movement of the SNAIL, they would have become the dominant species long ago. Using Helix Fragments as power, a SNAIL could change it's biological composition and become nigh invincible to natural hazards.

Great game, I love it! Was at disappointed when fighting Moon Snail, who seemed easier than the Cube, but he redeemed himself in part 2.

This is better than any other indie metroidvania-style game that I've played (incl. non-flash). Seriously, this is on par with most Metroid games, if not better! The level design is superb, especially when it comes to secrets. auriplane is all like, "Yo, dog! I heard you like secrets, so we put secrets in our secrets so you can find while you find!" Or something like that, anyways. :P

For those complaining it's just a "ripoff" of games like Metroid and such: The creator even says in his description it was inspired by 8-bit classics with references therein. This isn't a ripoff, just a "tribute" game to all that was good about 8-bit. It's a great way for those of us who lived through the 8-bit era to have that familiar feel while exposing the newer people to the great things that were 8-bit gaming. Re-play value was a great aspect of 8-bit gaming in my opinion, and this game has that. 5/5 for it's creativity and replay value (something you don't see often in flash games).

Step aside Mario. While you're failing miserably at wall jumping, Snaily has already climbed to the top, nomed some plants, defeated the boss, and still managed to make it home in time for the 18 hour documentary on the physics of shooting peas. This is one of the best NES era inspired games I've played in a long time.

FANTASTIC! I can tell you got inspiration from a lot of games many people would consider "retro" now days. Love the unique play-style, control mapping makes sense, levels and bosses are tricky without being impossible, and THE SOUND TRACK--OH THE SOUND TRACK! Wonderful fun. Where's the 6/5 button?

-BOSS RUSH TIPS- Pt.2
Time Cube(Space Box):There is an invincibility zone in the area by the door, but once the metal cubes begin to surround him you can get hit. Stay in the opposite corner to the box; shoot when he reaches your side. Use the C key over Z.
Sun Snail(Moon Snail):His dark waves can be blocked by your own rainbows. His rainbow donuts can be jumped over; these shots will be the main problem, though you'll heal up when you reach the next phase.
Sun GigaSnail(Giga Snail):Bouncing-Keep out of the corners at all times. Don't shoot; focus on dodging, as this phase will do most damage. Snail: This is the phase you can attack in. The rainbow shots are dodged easily; stay on the other side as him, don't go under him and constantly shoot. Shooting: Wait 'til you know which way the shots go, then stay an inch in front of them. To avoid getting hit as he starts to shoot try to stay diagonal from him. Sleeping: Stay in your shell; his shots will go through you.
Hope this helps!

Boss Hints(3 and 4): Space Cube: Avoid the walls, stay center floor/ceiling, opposite the boss. It's more a battle of attrition than anything.
Moon Snail Pt. 1: Do not move, shoot. Your rainbow shots will counter his dark ones. When he fires his rainbow spheres, shield. Can be beat uninjured.
Moon Snail Pt.2: Shell (bouncing): Avoid corners at ALL costs. Applies during every part of the fight, but especially here, he WILL hit you repeatedly. (Also, never be directly above him or below him or on the walls, if you can)
Shell (shooting): His shot waves move at "less than a snail's pace". Wait to see which way they go, then just stay slightly behind the wave in front of you.
Snail: Don't be under him, he'll crush you. Ignore first shot. If you are on the ceiling or floor, it will miss. If timed right, you can jump over it, then gravity switch if needed. If he's on the ceiling be on the floor, vice-versa.
Shell (sleeping): Shield, blocks the Zs.
Hope this helps!

Who remembers Super Metroid on the NES? This is so obviously a very good modern retro rendition of that classic game. Kudos!

A snail goes to a car decal place and asks to have a big letter 'S' on the sides of his car. The artist asks, "Why do you want an 'S' on your car?" The snail replies, 'When I drive around, I wannt people to look at my car and say, 'Look at that S car go!' "
Sorry, it just seemed right to post it.

I first judged this as an average game, at first the levels and the controls were confusing, but after playing for half an hour it feels very much more fluid in gameplay and then I acquired the gravity jump which completes the experience.
Great game!

Though auriplane already provided a completed map, I made one more concise which I believe is easier to use: http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/687/snailiadmap.jpg

uziboy, lagging is caused by the inability of your computer to keep up with the game, and not a problem with the game itself.

I love this game! Nice Metroid references, with music that reminded me of old MegaMan! Can't wait to see another one with a higher level of difficulty!

Pasting a chopped version of my message on your profile as I want to show my support here, too. Adding my voice to those that are sad you changed the name of Isis, particularly as she is a Goddess in my faith. (Faith most likely irrelevant, mentioning it to show I empathise with the situation) I refuse to let that group affect how I say her name. If it’s not too late, I’d advise sticking to what you wanted, and instead messaging people who are too ignorant to differentiate between the two (I mean ffs, Isis = name, ISIS = acronym) then you could message them with a copy-pasted explanation, instead of why you changed the name. Please don’t back down, I feel in doing this you are only allowing IS to further the fear. If you don’t go back to what you wanted, I won’t agree but I will understand why you don’t want the hassle, and won’t think less of you. Just know that myself, and judging by your profile messages many others, will stand by you.

Really enjoyed exploring this game. The controls are good, instructions are clear, the animation is cute . Figuring out different areas of the puzzle is fun.
