"I can see the future, snaily! I can see you finding a weapon somewhere under the water!"
I was tempted to quit the game to prove him wrong.. :D

who else thought they could kill monsters by jumping on them ? :) :)
Good game, very simple, but very attractive. 5/5

What an outstanding game. Really well put together in every aspect, from the controls to the level design to the music to the difficulty curve to the dialogue. From about 500 games I've now rated this is one of ~10 receiving 5 stars. I hope there's a sequel. p.s. Isis is a central character in Final Fantasy Legend II, a cornerstone of the Gameboy from back in the 90s, and the Shrine of Isis also a central location. If people want to flip out, let it be pointed out that there is plenty of game-related precedent for use of one of the central characters of the Egyptian pantheon. Cheers.

First 5 min....Oh no another kiddies game.
Then I started to play and play and play...
This is metroid poured in a snails sauce!

Heh, beat moon snail right after encountering him, that was pretty easy. I had the most trouble with the damned cube since I for some reason never noticed toggle. >_<
You're faster and more powerful, jump higher and floatier, but you take double damage, can't hide in your shell, grass disappears in one bite and doesn't regrow, and most enemies and bosses are faster and more powerful. The fastest path through the game is significantly different, too. Aside from that, I think the differences are cosmetic (ending, dialogue, menus, item names). Slug mode is also probably a little buggier ;-)

Maby there could be a prequel where you play as sun snail and go on an adventure that leads up to the point where he goes bad.

Auriplane, Elephant Quest may be made by my favorite developer, but it in no freaking way trumps Snailiad. In fact, I almost hate Elephant Quest compared to this and that it somehow did better, probably because of its huge glorifying Armor Games sponsorship >:( Sorry for the rant; and to all the people who like EQ more than I do, I said IN COMPARISON to Snailiad, in my opinion, EQ is next to nothing. I still enjoyed it though, which I admit can be hard to believe from what I stated. SAM642 got this out of me.

Jesus Christ, this game is so awesome. I'm using all my might not to cuss about how amazing it is. The graphics are constantly triggering some sort of nostalgia-pleasure complex in my brain, the music is well-thought-out and artistic, and the gameplay combines many of my favorite features from retro video games. PLUS, the main character is a snail, which is magical and wonderful. Thank you for bestowing this virtually perfect work of art upon the undeserving receptacle that Kongregate is.

Okay, I just must post this... Stompy is a lot easier than shooting diagonally. Just jump up and shoot your boomerangs left or right. Stompy will die before you could even kill the cannons.

Seems both you and Xdanond are fantastic at game creation. It merited a 5/5, yes, though this is a throwback to the 8-bit games, where as Starwish was a bit more modern. However, once again, very very impressive. Easily better than just about any other game here on Kong.

Adding to Visuna's comment: REMEMBER YOUR SHELL SHIELD SKILL ON THE LAST BOSS!!! You just shouldn't use the shell shield skill against a boss when it's not invulnerable, that is, on all the other bosses. If you forgot how to use your shell, press the arrow key corresponding to the gravity (like, if the gravity is normal (down) you press down to hide). Use it in every moment on the battle except for when the boss is vulnerable (duh). Really, using it makes it another really easy boss. Indeed, the only boss I found difficult was the 3rd (but that was probably messing up gravity changes because was trying to aim the weapon at the same time...).
