I love this game but the grind is just to much for me to keep playing. Its a shame there is no sequel that fixed these issues. There should be more souls at a time as you get further on. and not as much xp to level. If you need to put in special places just to grind, you should know something is wrong.

There is a glitch with tournaments. IF you play the easiest tournament till the last battle then run. You can enter a harder tournament at full health and on the final battle of that tournament.

I beat all the challenges and the three tournaments, except that I cannot gain entree into Dark Force Island. Any hints on where I might find that entrance?

Kind of painfully repetitious, but here are my tips. 1: Knight path middle and right sides for damage. 2. Get both regenerations from mage tree, (down the center of the tree) and nothing else. Mp will grow with levels and be sufficient enough. 3. After a few islands are complete, complete the left side of the Demon tree to get disease. This will help you with bosses along with regen.
4. You don't need to grind at the yellow squares, you do a lot of killing along the path. 5. Money is nearly useless until late game until you can purchase shrines. Might be okay to build markets but I only had a few and was alright. Most were unpopulated. Once you get shrines, remove everything else and make it a shrine UNLESS it is for catapults. 6: For the seige, ALWAYS use your initial frontline warriors they are your meatshield. After you get catapults and then dragon, use two catapults and dragon and focus on tower. 7: souls all go to weapon.

Advice if you're in it for the long haul: Only build one of each building. You can build a few extra towns or markets, but don't build them at every available location. The final blueprint that you unlock (on the Dark Force island) is a shrine, which you will want to build as many of as possible (+10% damage). This will make end-game things SUPER easy. Don't worry about the 3rd tournament until after you have unlocked shrines. For skill trees: Final knight skill takes 250 mp, final mage skill takes 300 mp and does a little more damage than the knight, and final demonic skill takes 300 mp and does a lot more damage than mage. For sieges: Focus on one frontline army at a time with archers/foot soldiers, while using (a) catapult(s) to take out the fortress. Once you have the dragon unlocked, use 2 foot soldiers, 2 catapults, and the dragon. Use the catapults and dragon to attack the fortress only; foot soldiers are only to absorb damage.

I would like to know who designed the female soldier's armor. Isn't the entire purpose of armor to, you know, PROTECT your body? Stupid RPG rule of scantily clad women. It makes no sense.

People complaining about this game when it was added to Kong almost 4 years ago and is in general a very fun (granted, somewhat easy) game. It's even better that the BOTD required the player to actually play the game for more than 3 minutes and not just look up a walkthrough for another boring Escape game badge like every other new badge nowadays.

Wow, did I really do so much grinding? Anyway, once I got shrines, it was quite fast, with all those instant kills by ultimate warrior skill.

That silly "New Game Plus" option just totally sucks. I thought is will bring along my character sets to a new episode of the game, but it only destroyed game progress - without allowing kongregate to registrate my achievements for completion and tournaments. At least if it would have placed it on another saving slot, but no... Even without telling me clearly what it will do.

Money is found useless resource in this game, at least for the sword upgrade? Even better if there is hidden shops that sell epic items, status effect portions.

I wanted to like this game. But it just seems simplistic, juvenile, and slow. I'm sure a lot of work was put in, but in comparison to so many other games on this site, it just doesn't measure up.

Okay, you've tossed together an alpha version: you have a battle engine, a world traversal tree, and resource staging. However, now you need to write the game. (1) What is the experience you want the player to have? The current status is a resource grind; the story-line is merely a template. (2) Your story line will greatly improve if you drop the third-person perspective and replace it with first-person. At the moment, I'm directing an anti-hero from "outside the machine", which has limited empathy and identification. You need to be a *really* good writer to pull this off. (3) Since you cannot write clear, correct English, you need to enlist someone who can. I'll be happy to help with working on the text when you get to that point -- message me. The current text simply detracts from the game.

Hard to find blue prints? Take the "dead end" paths, they're usually at the very end.
Also quickest way to win a siege, aim your catapults (and dragon) at the castle itself, and ignore all the units. Your melee units are just meat shields for your ranged dudes.
Also, do the demonic skill tree first, it comes with healing moves that do damage at the same time and silencing makes things so much easier.
(Disease will let you silence and curse at the same time)
Once you've got that, increase your critical damage so the "Reaper" has a better chance of insta-killing

This game gets really repetitive and boring. Something involving actual skill needs to be added to make it more interesting and exciting to play.

Pretty sure this was originally a Sonic fangame. Even if it was meant to lampoon something, it's just too terrible to play.

Anyone else having trouble with achievements not being completed? I just beat the game, and all 3 tournaments, but no achievements. Please let me know if you've found a solution to this!

Just plain boring. The sieges are ludicrously slow and somewhat unbalanced. (The enemy has a move for each unit but you only have 3 regardless of how many units you have?) Got the daily badge but no patience to sit through the game to get any of the other badges.

@ AdmiralBosch: Glowing Ambition lasts for three TURNS, not to be confused with three ACTIONS. So you get a 20% damage boost for the remaining 8 actions, for 160% extra damage. (assuming that you don't use more powerful skills during that time)

Strangely the worst part of this game isn't the game play, which ias boring, the skill system, which is poorly done, the dialogue, which sounds like wannabe dub, Its the story. It seems to just be thrown together with a bunch of anime buzzwords.

Funny-games? I thought that was just a site for porno games? Based on how bad this game is, I'm going to guess that is still true.

Oh, that feeling when you have 19 souls, level up, and realize you need to level up one more time for that 20th soul to get counted. Fantastic.

This is one of the worst games I have ever played. I particularly love how the action bar has a zero pixels target zone randomly. Or when it's all the way to the left so the marker is past if before you can even see the bar. This game made me lol at it's awfulness, but that's the only good part of it.

Glowing Ambition I boosts your damage by twenty percent, and lasts three turns. In other words: for the cost of 100% attack damage, you deal 60% attack damage over the duration of the effect.
It's nice to know that the developer spent five seconds thinking that through.
