I didn't get the Shrine blue print until the last island and it made the game SO much easier in that my initial 3 attack per turn were doing 50k hit points of damage. Do not recommend spending souls on buying skills points or any other things except improving your sword only. I finished the game with about 5200 hp and 1100 mp. I bought all of the Knight items and enough of the Mage and Demonic items to get 50% heal and all items for increasing mp, strength and hp

Wish there was a way to have text box completely appear instead of slowly writing itself out :( (I don't want to skip it, I just want to read it faster)

Skill point bonus for soul is a 1 time bonus of +5, does not increase number of skill points you get per level. 25 souls for +5, next rank is 35 souls.

If you just want the easy badge, go to the right from the castle and farm the yellow goblin/raptor spawn point until you get to level 3 (50 XP per match). Increase your physical skill. Then go up the mountain until you get to the next yellow perma-spawn point with the Element enemies (150 XP). Takes 20 minutes.

It's pretty boring to be honest. Just swing your sword 3 times in a row and occasionally use a potion if you really need to.

Your souls only update after every level up. I got the easy badge at level 5 with 28 souls after 28 minutes. A soul per minute.

If only it takes a little less time to earn the easy badge which happens to be today's BoTD it would at least be an alright game.

"You have gained a soul" No I have not. Not for the badge at least. The counter is still the same. I don't know when it updates, but sometimes it just jumps up.

@Timebelly Thanks, I figured it out myself after grinding to level 4, but I wish I read the comments to get there earlier.

I'm always wary of any game that has an "auto-move" button because it's admitting the gameplay isn't very compelling.

To those stuck on the 1st castle battle - to get more Frontline units, just keep clicking on the frontline soldier icon.

Lethal Jagged Spine is the most hilariously ridiculous protagonist name I've ever come across, even in Kongregate RPGs. The super edgy design and dialogue make it even funnier. I hope this was meant to be satirical, because I cannot possibly take the story seriously.

Also, the critical hits being artificially timed to frame rate can make some of them literally impossible to hit with how small they can be sometimes. The game is a really good core, but some of the game design decisions are real head-scratchers. The game is just on the edge of grindy and fun, and I can't imagine it reaching much of an audience

Biggest stat checker I've ever seen. Does the enemy do more damage in two turns than you do in 3? You lose 5% of your army. You can basically math out this entire game and there's no close fights, it's either you win or you lose based on damage numbers alone.

Seriously? I need two types of units to be able to attack a castle unlocking access to further sites but there is no way to build whichever building is required to produce such units...? What am I supposed to do? Start all over again? Is that a real game?

Going for strength training and Blood Siphon ASAP helped me a lot. +25 extra attack power helped a lot for auto battles.

I can't start the game. I click new game and the box opens to launch new game. I click on new and nothing. This seems to be happing a lot lately.

For people who are just here for the badge (like me): Because the game only updates at level-ups and level 3 happens to be just a bit before 20 souls you actually need more souls (and 2000 xp). Get knight and sweeping edge, you can use that exclusively in the yellow fighting area in the mountains. Easy kills, stupid farming, but it gives the badge. You can also go downwards and have fights give 100-150 xp instead of 50 but these fights take longer. That's an idea for level 3.

*Colorful text that says "FUNNY GAMES" shows up.*
*Next screen shows an edgelord character appear at the left.*
Snrk, okay. Well, the contrast is rather funny at least.

It's official this game is buggy, I finally manged to get into the fortress and pass it to get onto the rest of the map

2 stars, the easy badge for botd is easy enough to obtain. Beyond this its just a matter of grinding hoping that you achieve a extremely random blueprint so you can build your army and lunch an assault on the fortress... after two hours of grinding I gave up and submit a bug report. Please fix the game.

Battle mode (the mode with the army) needs fast forward button, or needs to go faster. This Please, the game is unplayable in this mode!

Unlock Shrine. Delete old buildings and replace all with shrines = easy win. Unfortunately shrine is in the very last world.

It could not be less clear where I'm even supposed to start. I can't find any level on the maps that looks like I can click it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Uncle0Bob, the badge also updates when you load a save, so you can quit and reload as soon as you've got 20 souls to get it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Souls Captured badge updates only when you level up. Because of this, you'll actually have to level up after you got 20 souls to get the easy badge.

This game has great potential, but numerous flaws - too many to be listed in a single comment. The only selling point is that you play as literal Edgelord :)

If you click on the unit you want to send in to battle, a tick will appear on their icon/picture. Clicking a second time will add a second unit to battle and another tick. Ie clicking soldiers twice will send two groups to the battle. Clicking a third time will dismiss both units.

Completely stuck. Built the alchemist building, can't built anything else, can't attack the first castle because I don't have 2 types of units. Based on the comments here a building can be destroyed but I have no idea how.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I don't have any idea how to move forward. I need a second building site to siege the castle, but there are none available and my entire path is fight-again nodes or dead-ends. Soooo, what am I missing? Otherwise, not that impressive. 2/5
