1 star for being forced to completely replay the 5-10 minute level after you get to the boss. Game really needs to have a quick save so that you can just replay the boss if needed. Level 3 is brutal.

I can't believe the drops disappear so fast! I like to take my time killing things... I wish they didn't disappear on me! I mean I lose more health in "trying" to get the stupid medic kit in panic before they disappear!

WTF, I go ALL THE way to the boss, destroy it and then have to go ALL THE WAY BACK in under 2 minutes. That is some lame a$$ BS.

These games need to stop queuing actions. The slightest lag can cause my character to go careening off. Forcing me to stop doing anything until he catches up.

I came up with this idea of standing on top of the tank boss so that it couldn't shoot me, but it started shooting backwards, what's the point in rotating or even having the turret if it can shoot at all angles?

"You'd better search for a health pack". Yeah, sure. As if you could find one without killing enemies. Which is kind of hard to do if the next thing is a miniboss and you're at 15. Plus no intermediate saves on a mission - get killed and you just wasted 10 mins. 1/5

I gotta tell you - this takes me back to the glory days of video games. Speaking that Ikaruga is one of my favorite games of all times, job well done.

As everyone else already says, the cover is shitty and is only used to restrict my movement. It pisses me off that I can physically SEE foot soldiers jumping the walls to get close to me. Need I mention the HORRIBLE weapon drops? I had the weapon choice I believed was good and while advancing, killing foot soldiers, I picked up a shitty 'G'. Also, the mortar is shit. It does radius damage strong enough to get an exact kill on a foot soldier. The mortar should be limited and capable of destroying whatever is in its path.

It seems like most of you haven't understood the idea behind this game.
1. You leave footprints. That is your "map"
2. You don't have to get all medals in one run. So you do a speed run, a defensive one and an aggressive one.
3. It is NOT shitty to walk back. That's the second part of the mission, rushing back. Like if every second mission was timed if you like that idea better.
4. You shoot over the "cover" as well. So yes, it only obstructs movement, don't see a problem.
4. The hard an impossible badges are what their name is. (in this game at least)
Restart button would be nice.
And you should be able to disable those "upgrades", although it can be seen as an additional challenge to either dodge the "bad" upgrades or adept to picking them up.

I've played the 2nd on, and it's great. This... this is perfect example of a game that serves to produce good sequels. However. IT IS POORLY DESIGNED!! You cant use the cover as cover, they only stop your motion. After you kill a boss, your health is so low, there's no way you'll get back. Maybe a full heal after a boss fight? After that, there's never enough health to get by anyways! I'd say increase spawn rate. On top of that, there's that fact AFTER you kill the boss, AFTER you fight through waves of enemies, you have to kill the baddies again just to finish the level!!! Not to even mention the poorly set time table. 2/5 stars, because the 2nd one is good

It's not often that I give up on badge of the day, but this is a fine example of buggy gaming. The dev should listen to the feedback that everyone has been giving - The powerup system is faulty, the 'cover' only serves to obstruct the player, meaning the screen is filled with bullets from enemies that are off the screen, and the popups in the bottom corner often obstruct the players vision and have caused my death on more than one occasion. Better luck with future projects, this one should be put down to experience and moved away from.

I like cutting trought enemy like butter. The lack of minimap is a problem, also why can't the transporter wait for me? and why the enemy respawn after killing the boss?
I would have liked to choose the wepon setup at start instead of relying on enemies drop that can mess up your run by downgrading you

After playing this game i got a motto it was that"when you hae to fight an army always use a giant killing machine!" MAP NEEDED i got lost on the escape part but found another way for it in the escape trace your footsteps wherever you see your killing machines foot step coming towards you go there

I'm supposed to be a highly sophisticated killing machine, and yet I have to rely on my tracks to escape the area and not a map... That seems logical. I like BerzerkStudio games, but as far as this game goes it's 1/5 for me

Not even worth the daily achievment, All u do is run around holding mouse in, no map, needlessly large map, U get no health kits once u get into game... it's just grind and the daily badge isn't worth it

What is this? Going through the GODDAMNED FIRST level without health packs? I found ONE at the beginning and stop. Oh, and to those who might say "don't get hit", this is the answer: "Why wouldn't you tell me something like that? Because, don't you see, that changes everything."

Translation of jrs51's comment: "This game is pure action all the time, is very good indeed, I recommend this game". This statement is true, and for a game made 5 years ago in 2008, it's not bad.
