The game is overall by far the best flash game I've ever played but I have a few recommendations. The auto-fighting feature is nice but it isn't fluid with all the running back and fourth if you make a sequel they should be within arm distance or a foot away if they are in the 2nd row also there should be an option to switch to auto during the fight for when you've crippled them and you just want the fight to end. Also buying higher level slaves are a bit pricey, by the time you can afford them you can get one to that level from 1 in just a few battles. The AI are good and can get quite intelligent, however the sword and shied gladiators are impossible to hit.(not sure if that was planned) My last concern is that when you level up you should a small bonus in each stat whenever you level up so that you get stronger in each stat just by being a higher level

So I completed a goal where I was awarded a silver brick. I used it at the blacksmith and received a piece of armor. After exiting the game I returned to find my armor missing and the brick gone. Thinking I might not have not saved it correctly I looked at the goals page and it was still check off as completed. This has happened on two separate occasions now. Something to look into if you have a chance. Thanks for your time!

So, when I'm lv 1, the weapon drops are daggers which do 1-10. At lv 20, the weapon drops are swords which do 3-12. Lemme guess, at lv 60, they're spears which do 5-14?

Provacateures are pretty much waste of space. Speed is paramount ability then comes dex and str. Retarius, thraex and dimachaerus is IMO best team combination. Retarius should ignore developing cure, thraex berserk since using them will you lose a round. Anything that improve speed, dex or str should be maxed while improving those abilities. So Thraex shoul be and up with very high dex and dimachaerus should end up with 120+ with both in str and speed by level 40. Retarius can take shiled bash from murmillo after net is maxed out so if throwing arm is disabled you can still strike back. It was easy to win rome even when my opponents were 12 levels abouve me. High speed score makes your guys go first so you maybe can kill/ disbale one of the opponents and net another before they have chance to strike back.

The AI is pretty darn stupid. Only an enemy was left alive. His arm's armor was almost destroyed. I chose auto fight. My three gladiators, stupidly, instead of continuing his arm, attacked the head. The last enemy killed them all.

The only thing i have to complain about is the imbalanced rome contenders. getting 1 shot on every turn. still maintain you should just beef up the items in the store until your next level cap raise.

Rome's Contenders do not have the 60 lvl ceiling, they seem to be superjuiced and not in balance to my fighter's maxed skills. Only lucky battles win ...

I find the rows sort of useless. It would be nice if an enemy had to attack all of the first row before reaching the second, instead of being able to reach the second row even when your team is infront. This would add a little more strategy to the game, and I would use the rows if it was added.

For anyone trying to learn how the stats work, here's vitality:
Equipped an item with +3 Vitality - looks like 1pt of vitality gives
4HP (12) to arms,
5HP (15) to legs,
4.66...HP (14) to head,
6HP (18) to torso.
The armor my characters wear seems to give them 2x the listed bonus for all areas, but I don't yet know why. Anyone know?

I like how the slaves are cheap in the first arena, but slave prices get rather ridiculous later on. I mean 104,900 for a level 20 slave? what's the point in grinding for an hour or so just to get that much money, when I have a slave that's just the same level? I mean, don't get me wrong, this is still a great game.

Its not just you. The contenders in Rome are grossly overpowered in comparison to the gear you can buy or get dropped by other teams. At level cap with the best gear ive been able to muster, all 3 of my gladiators still get pretty much one shot on each round. Not to mention the to hit ratio against contenders is somewhere near 50%. My dual wielder gets crits upward of around 300, while contenders tear me apart with crits of 600-700+.

Shield bashing really needs to be nerfed. My 200 DEF Shield-basherman was bashing his shield with this 100 DEF Shield-basherman of Athens. Despite the fact that I had my Trident-thrower lobbing his 60 DEX tridents at the guy, the game went on for like 15 minutes because it's near impossible to hit a high-DEF guy who spams shield-bash.

so if youre going to have the contenders in rome hit for 3 times as much as i do at lvl cap, you should put in some better random gear in the shop.

@Lion, shield bash back! Or, keep fighting people you have already beaten for gold and take their loot and sell it in the shop. You will get rich quick!

I don't understand the"hit %". I counted 16 misses in a row at 50% chance to hit with no dodges, just misses. Does the hit% actually reflect the chance to hit?

Yeah, everybody knows that throwing a javelin at someone's arm is much easier than throwing it at his body. Esapecially frustrating since the main cause of losing is exactly this : getting your arms or legs ripped off in 1 shot by a javelin throw.

I think that there should be bosses that are bigger and stronger and take more strategy. Also im having trouble playing it more than once like it saves but when i hit play it starts a new game.

I found a glitch... right before the fight button 3 question marks appear and when i click fight it goes back to the choose team page but i cannot click on anything

I'm with BowWow, could we please turn off the effects. Also, could we put in a "pass" button so that when a character is down we don't have to crowd appeal or block? Other than that, i'm one of the rare few that doesn't mind grinding. Oops, my bad, one last...if looted items are of lesser quality than what we are already selling off, could we have a cash option? One more last *grins* would it be possible to organize inventory by item, perhaps just by being able to insert the item where we want?

If you refresh the game after being to shop, the game will reset to right after your last battle. It is annoying when you find a good item in the shop, buy it, and then lose it because you close the browser. If you use some metal at the blacksmith and refresh, you will lose both the item and the metal you used.

I would like the option to save whenever I want and not rely on autosave. There is no indication when the game saves. If you buy gear and then quit, your new gear doesn't save. You must play at least a round to get it to save. Apparently, the autosave is immediately after the round. Even if you allocate skill points after a match, your changes don't save.

Why does my heavy hitting 2 hander allwaayys miss but my other 2 hardly ever miss, which is really unfair cause my 2 hander is my main damage-doer :(

shield bash is okay, something that we need is count shield as armor. it blocks often but can be broken after receiving a substantial amount of damage hence make the murmilo vulnerable.
and for anyone who say that shield bash isnt over powered. ITS TRUE
but at late game shield bash +counter+regen "WAS" overpowered
