Ok so the game is challenging in the sense that players will attempt to kill you right from the start but heres a few tips use the auction hall to get a goliath any variant it'll give you the time to escape some times, anything that cost U you want to just get in the auction hall yes i know that means getting millions of credits use the skylabs resource transport about level 4 you can ship 800000c worth to your ship oh and if you have U dont spend on ammo buy lf-3 lasers or an iris drone

Play Nova raider instead. It's basically the same game, but it works and you can play it on kongregate rather than being redirected.

The original Dark Orbit was better. This new version is not just play to win, it's unplayable. You can't attack anything with your lasers because your ship doesn't have a laser cannon, and there's nowhere in the game that tells you how to get one. Missiles work, but you're not allowed to use them in the 3rd mission, so I'm stuck.

First, when you click "Start" to actually fly your spaceship around in space, it takes you off Kong and logs you into Bigpoint's own site. Second, the tutorial is garbage, especially when explaining features (like "configurations") introduced post-2010. I'm writing this in 2016, and this is a real problem. Third -- and most importantly -- your own faction's players have no compunction about murdering you, so you never get a chance to grind, much less attack the enemy faction. Any one of these problems would be tolerable; three of them is unacceptable.

What ever happened to creating a game simply because it was your passion and you wanted to prove yourself capable to get the attention of companies looking for passionate creative developers? Its like most of the games I find are developed with the sole purpose of Pay to Win! Pay to Win is (in my book) only a step above same day downloadable content for a game you just paid full price for. Sure you can play, but the absence of missing content is too prominent not to notice. In this case its a hostage situation where you must pay in order to defend yourself, to speak nothing of any joy you MIGHT experience after paying.

Congratulations, on of the most reknown cash grab pay to win bullshit games is now on kong, too ! It only took a century, but now you can finally one star it.

I'm in a bit of disbelief that this scam of a game made it on the "new games" list somehow. Obviously money was involved. Screw it, I'll just say it, they used bribery to game the system. I'm not willing to take a look at what they changed due to how offensive the original was; there is nothing to salvage here. The idea wasn't badly implemented; there wasn't room for improvement. The game itself started from a foundation of pay-to-win and nothing can change that. If they really wanted to distance from the scam pay-to-win that came before, they would have just created a new game that wasn't designed for that model.

You'd think that a gaming website with a comment section filled with people whining about pay to win would influence the devs. They might as well just make the game itself cost money to play.

FUND THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS. Starfighter Infinity (Video search reference: Starfighter Disputed Galaxy, but most of them don't even show half or more than half of everything) http://www.benoldinggames.co.uk/ Bloody hackers ruined it even though it was pure skill and not a money grabber -.- It was pretty much like LoL but with space ships and you could edit your abilities by using hangars inside the main stations and outpost stations. T_T

I am a member of Kongregate and I want to stop playing the Dark Orbit game indefinitely. It is like ending my membership with bigpoint.com where I am not in any way a member of such site, but I am a proud member of Kongregate which has been my only website i enjoy playing online games.

nice plugin glitches on Firefox, btw. it's always nice to be engaged in battle, have the game crash, and be SOL. absolutely terrible.

This game would be GREAT 500/500 if it weren't for this one teency tincy bug: the shop takes your money, but you don't get what you paid for.

Actually Germany has created some amazing game companies, sadly Bigpoint was off to a great start than just ruined it.

Nothing against Germans because my niece is German. But they make
horrible games. This happens to be one of them. Unfortunately they
give a lot of sway to the wallet warriors who play their games and the
newbies never have a chance. I see they disabled pvp in X1 maps back
in 2010...Way too late now.

This might be the most godawful piece of garbage to hit the front page of Kong in the nearly 6 years I've been here, and it's been here almost as long as I have. No game on Kong should ever send you offsite without your permission. Did I fall in a hole to 1999 popups or a torrent site?

As with so many of these games the developers have massively under-invested in the infrastructure to run it. At peak times (and even at off-peak times sometimes) the lag makes the game completely unplayable.

0/5. It takes too long to save Pilot sheet. I try to set my B-day but it automatically sets it to 30/7. Don't even bother trying to play this piece of $#!*. I noticed that others also said that the game is annoying as well. Try to make a better game next time.

Development has become extremely slow to the point where you're seeing a single, small update every year. They have clearly shown over the years that they will not be making an attempt to fix the obvious balancing issue or attempt to regain there old audience. I would advise that you don't waste your time or money on this game, it's so clearly dead with the only reason it still being up is because people are willing to spend large sums of cash to battle it out.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yup, still the same old Dark Orbit I remember. Where you always have to be on the look out for those better equipped players that kill you in just a few hits. I guess they kill you to make their ego bigger or something, because being a lower ranked/under equipped player can be frustrating. If you want to play a space sim game where you won't get cooked in just a few hits by some big players, look elsewhere.

I hate games that just take up a shit ton of history space! then I have to keep clicking the back button or open a new tab!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
lol this drek is back again? It's a shame, b/c this could have been a halfway decent game IF you could leave the starter map without being turned to glitter. But then again it is Bigpoint who have made a career out of creating seal clubbing simulators.

I tried to play this like 2 times and always had a bad experience, i can get an ok ship but then i still have to fear the elite players that raid your faction, so the first time i just run out of premium currency to repair my ship and going an grind things on starter one would be a joke. (or wait&fear all your movements 16hrs a day) The second time was better but the complete hostility of players killed it for me, yes i know you want that same quest and that nobody by yourself can take that space monster but when they see that you are the first to strike so you keep the loot and the players of your same faction start to shoot not the monster but you to dissuade you from getting a reward from this monster and even outright killing you even if you flee'd, i just said i am done with this because is not worth to play in fear of elite of other players and of your faction that just back stab you.
I am not sure if i check this one in a par of years, yes it got better but still suck.
