Spectacular in every way. I highly recommend playing it all the way through without resorting to a walkthrough. The immersion is fantastic.

heh, I loved the game, made me think, and made me feel like a fool at just how simple some of the answers were, and how I was over complicating it. Thank you for sharing this game with all of us.

The Rincewind reference was obvious and unmissable. I am so proud of having found the Peter Pan / Captain Hook one! :) -- you must have more of them hidden there, methinks.
a dozen, at least ;) There's a Bugs Bunny reference, two Wheel of Time's, two Badger song's, a Dragonball reference, some Beavis and butthead, the three blind mice (I thought this was obvious), a Dylan Dog reference (MEGA OBVIOUS to people who know who that is) and others. I forget already.

This game is absolutely beautiful, if you have the perseverance to get through the wonderful storyline, you come to love the man you play, and other characters. I lost myself in this game, playing seemed like nothing, like i was just reading a wonderful story, and one where you put yourself in the mans place. we come to dislike the "mother" and realize how wrong we are. this game is amazing, and I wept after playing, for it was over. i would love to see another, and although that wont happen, the short story would be amazing. Black Olive Games, you have made a gem, for all to enjoy. 10/5

This strongly reminds me of Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson in its relation of magic, color, and Breath; however, the specifics of it are different enough to be intriguing. Beyond that, this game is quite delightful.
For all this will do, the game is unrelated to Warbreaker - even the concept of breath is accidental. I'd read Sanderson before, but Warbreaker I read after the Grey Rainbow was done.

I'm impressed! The most beautiful game I ever played. And it's hand drawn! I love it! 5/5 and favorite. I would love it if you made a sequel!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ummm, sequel please? That incorporates some of the other places on the map? I got completely lost in this one, almost forgot it was a game...

Thank you. The music helped... The illustrations were beautiful and at the same time obviously not the most stereotypically "talented" use of colored pencil. This game was simple and beautiful. I love what you did with the adventurer/friend. This was a fantastic use of an hour of my time. Truly. Again, thank you.

I adored this game. I love to play a great game with a great story. The gameplay was simple yet elegant and the overall story flowed well with it. The story itself, as well as the message was so moving it made me cry. And I didn't realize that I was crying until the very end. No game had ever done that for me. If I could I would give this 10/5 stars. Well done.

Damn. This. Was. Amazing. When you can speak to someone through a game, that shows what talent you have. I hope you all continue to make games as well as this. Thank you. AND, kudos for reppin' that Weebl's Stuff.

"And she explained everything. The Detective listened carefully. His breath caught. It was so simple, yet so beautiful." Truly a moving and inspiring explanation, except you didn't actually say anything! For a game priding itself on meaning and story, learning along with the Det., this is a complete cop out.
But you missed the point! It is not the what that matters. If I used exposition at this point, it would greatly lessen the experience! And there is an ending, after all. The game could have worked without that sentence, but I put it in for ambience.

You have said that this is the end of the tale for this game and that this is no longer your story. I do not believe that to be true. For this game was merely a chapter, focusing on the actions of the detective. With the chapter finished, I look forward to the next chapter, aka sequel. Does this magic land influence anybody else? What will happen to the Queen in the beginning? What of the tree that grows there? What might he encounter? Will the wizard ever get a girlfriend? What are the other areas that you are able to explore in this magic land? There are many questions left unanswered within this game, within this chapter. They could only be answered by the next. As the creators, you brought forth this game from an idea you had, so I do hope you find the time to forge the next piece of the dream, as I would be awaiting it with an open mind.
Your points are all valid, but my reasoning is this: the world is alive. Things happen, things end and others begin. People live their own lives, and there are tons of other stories you could tell. It wouldn't be a problem to make a story about the other characters or about completely other places of the world, with different characters. I actually already know what some of the characters will be going through (as may be read, if I ever write Letters from Beyond the Rainbow ;) But that's just it. They live their own stories. This one was ours. We can't be in all places at once, do everything and see everything. We have to realize that. That is why the world actually feels alive.

I must say I am super sad that you had to feed a rat to the hawk - I didn't want to do it... Rats are great, in fact - the best friend of all the best friends I have ever had was a sweet dumbo rat I named Hades. Great game, though. I enjoyed every minute of it!

Amazing Story, Beautiful Art, and I truly appreciated the nod to the Discworld of Terry Prattchet! I hope there is a follow up!

It was great to play a point and click game where the logic was actually explained before you had to solve it. Made it less random

Just an incredible game. There are only a few games i've enyojed that much so far, in my entire life i mean. Excellent, six stars.

I nearly cried at the end of this :) The story-telling parts of the game are so mature, set in such innocent graphics... and I adored Rincewind the Wizzard's cameo appearance.

A very beautiful game, has an ending that isn't just all good, it has happiness and sadness, as life itself has. Overall one of the better games that I have played in a long time.

"It is not the destination that changes us; it is the journey" That will stay with me forever. An utterly beautiful, yet simple game. Thank you so much for a wonderfully inspiring and truly magnificent work of art.

Even if the ending feels a bit rushed, I hate point and click adventures and the puzzles are very simple I still liked the game, I gave it a 4, which is more than what I usually mark good games with. Great Job.

once i finished this game, i was nearly brought to tears. this is one of the most beautiful stories ever told by a video game imho, in peculiar yet also beautiful art. 5/5, and I hope to experience more games like this from Black Olive Games. Thank you for the experience!

Whoa that was deep... It's works of art like this that make you just step back for a moment and think about things. 5/5 hands down.

"You would not ask for it if you did not need it. And if you need it, who are we to say you can't have it?" - Amazing, I think that already made my day.

man I wısh that wızzard and quın of south ( heart of the ıce) become couples. wızard was all red (passıon and love maybe) and quın waıts for a hero that can warm her heart (thıs could be us or wızzard) they both looks lıke want ıt. I wısh there wıll be a sequel butdev saıd there wıll be not :( (sorry for my bad english btw)
Ah well, the queen with the heart of ice was only meant to be a story. Some other hero, in some other story, will have the honour of warming her heart.

very deep and yet not hard to understand story. Dont get discouraged by the art (i didnt like it either). And dont be afraid that its gonna be boringly hard. If u are stuck u can click on the book botton-right side. 1st click small hint, 2nd click big hint, 3rd click u get the answer. I thought i wouldnt give it more than 3/5 cause of the art but changed my mind halfway through. 5/5 keep up the good work.

I was crying by the end of it. Not sobbing or making noise, just gentle tears. The message is so moving, and hit me personally as well.
Beautiful. Just really, really beautiful. That peaceful, serene kind of beautiful. The kind I haven't seen or, more accurately, felt in a long, long time.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
