"Ah, the kid who borrowed my shovel. Nope, don't want it back before you dig holes for some random guy I don't even know about.".

The linearity of the game (which I think commenters have overstated), is actually an important part of what the game is about. The character finds himself in a world that the doesn't understand and can only weakly control, a feeling reinforced by the limitation of the player's choice. "Linear" shouldn't necessarily be a bad word in game design.

Looks stunning to me, awesome atmosphere and music and the theme, really interesting and fresh to me, haven't stumbled upon a game like that though I'm sure there are. Never the less it was a great experience, thank you!

I can only find three orbs. 1. After getting shot, keep heading left and it's on the ground. 2. When you go down the cliff, walk underneath it and it's there. 3. Return the shovel to the guy. Anyone know how to get the rest?

I'm getting the feeling this is about the holocaust(the fences and towers look like an internment camp, their outfits look like stylised prison outfits, the man in the quarry looks like he has forced labour, the digging of holes could represent graves and I think lilies can sometimes represent death).
Although I'm not sure about the man who shot costis and warned him to quit represents the Nazis and I have no idea what the giant mirror/the inverse would be but at the end they do have to take the train to grandma's which could be his mom's way of saying they have to go to a concentration camp(where his grandma would be).

For the second orb you jump up in front of your picture in the bedroom after waking up. Thumbs up this since most people seem to be having trouble with it

Another strange bug. After taking the boat to the Valley, I moved right straight away and my guy got stuck running right against nothing at the end of the pier.

WOW! When's the next one coming? I think when cotis gets there he will get out and wander around stretching his legs and somehow enter the "Inverse Blackwood" from his dreams.

Okay all the orbs Specified: 1. Leave The starting screen and return. 2. When you "wake up" re-enter your bedroom and go under the painting while facing the same way then jump. 3. After getting shot keep heading left. 4. After hopping down the cliff walk under it. 5. When you get the shovel and are about to dig the holes say "no" and it will ask you if you want to dig for treasure. Do so. 6. Return the shovel to the guy. Credit to Gigalamesh and Innominate.

Interesting, promising story, good choice of music. However, I do feel this pushes the definitions of 'game' a little, since there was no challenge aside from the collection of orbs, a task which the player has little incentive to complete. I know it's just a prologue, but I was expecting a little more. Still, looking forward to see how this develops...

Had a strange bug. The text "Where am I?" didnt appear the first 20 or so times I loaded the game, and I couldn't move. It finally appeared and I can move now. Haven't seen anyone else report having this bug so very odd, unless the game was in the middle of a hidden update.

First Orb: Directly at the beginning, go right. after anwsering "mom?dad?" go left again.
Second Orb: When gpoing to grab water, go right till you're in the kitchen. dont grab the water, but go back left again util you#re in your room.
Thrid Orb: After getting shot, keep going left.
Fourth orb: After jumping down the tiny cliff, go left.
Fifth orb: When you got the shovel, got to dig holes for the lilith. When asked if you want to dig the holes, press no. Then it asks you to dig for a treasure. press yes.
Sixth Orb: After digging the holes, return the shovel to the miner-guy.

Nice. Very nice. The surreal atmosphere and shadowy villain figure set just the right tone of menace, the cryptic hints were handled very well, and even the fetch quest seemed to have juuust the right amount of challenge so it was neither breezy nor frustrating. Can't really review this since it's just an enticing preview, but I'm seeing a lot of potential here. I think I'm really going to enjoy the full game.

* SPOILER SECOND ORB * to get the second orb in the bedroom you must line up cortis beneath his own picture.... ( make sure to that he is facing the same way as the picture) so when you jump up it matches with the picture. I got this orb by being stupid and jumping up at certain things xD

Oh, wow. This looks like a fantastic multi-part game in the tradition of Coma & Nevermore. I'm thoroughly intrigued! MOAR!

This was a very sweet game, especially for something so short. And the ending was very nice. It was quite linear but in a very nice, limbo sort of way, as AceOfJ said. I'd love to see another game from you! The artwork and soundtrack were wonderful and the storyline was kind of interesting, although something of more complicated sorts would be nice, with more of a goal. Great game! 5/5

brings to mind 'death fugue' by paul celan, too "we're digging a grave in the sky it is ample to lie there" the poem also talks about being shot, digging and digging, 'black milk of daybreak', etc

Beautiful to look at, but, ultimately, just another one of those "walking games". Nothing bad about that, I just don't like them very much, personally.

The strange thing is - when you come to boat, it asks "Travel to Valey?" with only one answer. So it is useless to ask and answer, if you can't say "No"
