tip- when he shoots the lasers you can go behind him and they will miss you entirely. this will allow you to keep up your xp chain. i got it as high as x24 at one point, and once i learnt this i was able to get the final upgrade and got 3483.

Woo! i managed to sort of glitch the skull in the corner of the map by continuously tapping the A button even while Tom was dying!.

I dont get the comments about the skull being so difficult, he hasnt got a lot of health. Just dodge his flame attacks, smack him once or twice and go out of range of his flames, repeat a few times.

Semi-followed nitehart's guide, and took just a few tries to get the hard achievement. Definitely use the tombstones to level up faster. Damage increases noticeably with each level -- I recommend trying to reach level four (gold) before he transforms into a skull. And as an FYI, 4000 frames on my decently specced laptop was approximately two minutes.

His beard form has 3 types of attacks: 1) Beard spikes, which he will spam twice: Attack him at max range to avoid getting hit. Be aware that your character will sometimes step forward and do a spinning attack. 2) Laser beams which he will first shoot along the top part of the screen, then the bottom part. Stay on the ground throughout and when he flies to the side of the screen to use it, immediately run behind him and spam attacks. 3) Triple cheese drop: Hide under a platform and if one is about to drop on top of you, dodge it as it will bounce once on the platform and drop through. I managed to defeat this form without my character dying once on my first run using this strategy, but it is possible to die a few times and still make the hard badge. Attack your tombstones while you wait for him to change form. Skull form where he flies around the screen and shoots flares in 8/9 directions: Stun-lock him by continuously attacking him.

At the start, jump onto the second platform but don't attack. He'll send his beard out at you twice, jump and dodge them. Then go to the far left of the far left platform and hit him, he'll try to get into his laser shooting mode but you'll be hitting him in the other direction, stalling him. keep attacking, and you should rack up a huge combo.

When he his firing his laser, just attack him from behind. He will always fire inward and so won't ever hit you. By doing this, you can get high combos very quickly

When he does his laser you can just stand behind his head and continue to attack him without getting hit at all. That's how I got the 4 minute achievement.

Heres some tips to getting the hard badge: wen he does the lazers go behind him and get some combos, wen hes doing the bread attack combo the tombstones and you should get levels easily, and on the second form use your magic alot expecialy wen hes left or right in the screen but don't try to hit him wen the skeleton is on top of the screen.

This has some of the worst, most unresponsive controls I've ever encountered in a game. This is frustrating and awful.

Why is everyone complaining, it's not that hard! Just learn the attack patterns, and stand in safe places. Whack your tombstones around a bit to level up and you'll soon beat the skull just by hitting it as it moves to a new location :)

The trick for the hard badge is to get lucky enough to have like 3 or 4 tombstones piled on top of eachother and just keep spam attacking them while fulp homes in on you. You should be max rank extremely quick maybe even before he turns skull.
