Do not ask for robot upgrades. This game is in its development stages, and upgrades are a secondary priority. Improving and debugging gameplay is the priority atm.

I KNEW I recognized this general art style(and the jetpack sound effect)! Great job, Bubs, you're really pushing the envelope for Unity games.
Also I wouldn't even bother finishing the Crobos if I were you--if anything, it'd be better to wait for DRL's Blaster Master thing that hopefully won't be horribly crippled by a shitty overbearing physics engine.

Beautiful graphics, fantastic animation, great music, awesome effects
man I didn't knew unity could look that pretty.
But yeah I agree with some of the comments in here, this needs some sort of upgrade path, maybe different objectives, exploring the caves to get the orb might get boring after a couple of times.
But since this is still under development I guess you guys have many plans yet to implement, can't wait for future updates.

Like the game much, but got frustrated after a while. The tutorial said nothing about the minimap and I got lost in the cave after half an hour exploring... Also some upgrades and stuff would be cool, sinceotherwise it gets boring after a while

*scroll around planet, find small cave, click embark* half an hour later: "YOU CALL THIS SMALL???" 20 minutes later: *find the place with the orb, from underneath, start digging up and around it* 5 minutes later: *reach top of dungeon thing, realise that it was right near a place I visited about 5 minutes into the level; go down, grab orb, come up* two minutes later: "Can't find my way out, I guess I'll dig directly up." *hit rock* "WHERE DO I GO??" 13 seconds remaining on the clock: *reach the finish line!* 20 seconds after finishing: THERE'S A MINIMAP??? ------Excellent game, a well deserved 5/5, AND NOT EVEN FINISHED YET!

You may want to try updating your video drivers and your Unity Web Player. Otherwise, your computer just might now support the shader model we used - we'll try and fix this, but it may take a while.

Amazing with almost limitless potential. This displays what can be done with the Unity player. As this game stands right now it is a very good game, like an upgraded Motherload type game just without the upgrades. The path this game could go is absolutely amazing. This could become a multiplayer, mine, collect, and exploration game with upgrades and provide almost infinite replayability and fun. Hope this game advances and is finish 5/5.

Good potential, but I would totally change the aim of the game. Forget the orbs. Just make an epic version of MegaDrill. The game itself is not a lot of fun to play imo. (3/5)

YAY!!! i agree with the guy 2 down though... should be made clear... also, remov the dirt things after a few seconds so that it wont lag as much
--strip miner!!! mine all teh blocks!!

I apologise that you are offended by the unfinished nature of our game coolmike13. Feedback is very important for developing a really good game, we've already made a lot of plans to change things because of the feedback we've gotten from people on this very site. What you see here is the product of a month and a half of very hard work.

Why do they send a robot to collect this orb no one knows what it does or what its used for. All we could know its a weapon of mass destruction that can destroy huge planets and space stations!

It would be nice to have up to jump and to be able to use the drill as a melee weapon. It's annoying having something that will drill through dirt and rock, but not sentient mushrooms.

hmmm, a nice game but it doesn't feel like I have a reason to go into those caves. Also the ASD keys just feel strangely positioned when using arrow keys and spacebar, but that may just be me. Also I was clueless at first how I could move as ball form, until I found out you actually need some momentum before changing to ball mode, to me that wasn't very clear. Also if you really want to incorporate shooting I suggest using the mouse instead of 45 degree angles because now I'm just doing weird jumps to hit enemies while I could also just use my mouse to shoot them. Maybe make the controls WASD to move, E or Q to dig, space to jump and just use the mouse to aim and shoot.
Or instead of all that you can just make options so each player can configure it them selves. Anyway this certainly has potential to be a great game.

Extremely buggy, 2 different monsters I've encountered after about 10 mins of playing (I'm counting the ones that have the same shape but different textures as 1 seeing as they are extremely unimaginative) having lives on an exploring game? dude cmon...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
weird... was returning with the power orb thingy but dind make it in time because some undrillable block was preventing me from getting in my previous tunnel so i died cause the thing exploded... anyway next live i drilled back to the place were the orb was dropped after the explosion and when i picked it up again it exploded(again)

ground texture sometimes changes when you move. It looks beter if it doesnt change so randomly. I do not mean shaders and heightmap. I mean the texture flips or rotates on some squares when you move around.

The game is glitching on me REALLY bad. It sticks on an action making me keep running. I can't enter other actions like jump while it is "stuck" in standing mode.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Haha, it's alright. I had just killed a Gelfizz and ended up with one shield from the backlash. I started drilling the block directly behind it to get to a secret room I saw on the edge of the screen and "boom", drillboid gone :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oops! how did we miss that... Will check it before we update again but we can't make any significant updates now until after the competition. We'll keep working on it between now and then and release a new version after the competition is over.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Haha, you didn't completely remove gas pockets. I just hit one and died, and it wasn't even in a far off place. It was a rock that was in between me and a secret cave.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Gonna give it another go with the gas pockets removed, they where a real bugger. Keep updating please! It's got a lot of potential.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
We actually added the lives purely for this kongregate release, we'll definately be removing them once we have more of a goal to the game. Eventually the main goals will be collecting all the different parts, finding all the areas and completing the storyline. Just so there is no confusion, these things haven't been implemented yet!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
also as you add gunboids and new drillboids i suggest you ditch the "lives" and go with a drillboid/gunboid count and as you collect parts if you have enough parts you can construct whole new boids for your count
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
quite beautiful simple and fun
im glad you got rid of the gas pockets for now(they kept killing me)
maybe when you have some equipment added the game you can do one that lets you detect them and they wouldnt be so bad
another couple of equipment suggestions are possibly a dirt gun incase you do something stupid like excavate the top 50 layers of dirt (DOH!);>.< or you wanna play without killing anything and can throw up a roadblock and also maybe a kind of "fighting"shell so you can do damage if your going fast enough in ball mode possibly even breaking a block of dirt if you hit it hard enough (like from a really high drop you end up embedded in the ground or if its 1 layer just blasting through it though slowing down alot)
