Okay, this is hands down the prettiest unity/flash game I've ever seen. The lighting in particular; very well done. As far as gameplay, solid start...but so much left unfinished, imo. You've got a ball form that serves no real purpose since there aren't even slopped surfaces. Losing a charge on the shield should have some sound associated with it. Being able to drop/throw the orb sounds like a lot of potential but doesn't do anything besides you losing it. And either the score needs to be made more...relevant or there needs to be some use for the different ores and such. Drilling for the gems/ores is nice...but there's no incentive to do it besides "ooo, shiney!"

I just read the Update log and noticed that you're removing the gas pockets. Thank you. It's nice to write a complaint to a game developer and have them listen and do something about it.

I like the graphics. But I do not get the point of the game. Does not see to be too much explanation and I really dont like the controls. Too spread out over the keyboard. Why not implement a mouse aim? If you are just doing up and down, should not be that difficult.

I gave it a 5/5.
Why?
a) Because I really like the graphics
b) The many different graphics settings.
c) Performance is great even on my quite crappy PC.
d) Great potential (not that it isn't good right now)
e) Who doesn't like drilling games! (Motherload is till one of my favorite browser games).

great fun! lotsa of potential. as mentioned before the lack of a story is a real bummer. but i think detractors should read what the author has posted - that he will implement story and other featuers shortly. so vote for it and hope that more stuff will come!

It's pretty slow loading but yeah, i'd give this 3/5 in it's current state, with everything you've said you're adding in future, i see this game as 5/5 IF and only IF the loading is better.
Loading on a game like this should be like, a minute or so max... it feels like i'm waiting for 5 with this game but hey. Keep it up !

@pupatron
First of all, calm down man.
Second of all, dont get pissed at people comparing it with minecraft its an opinion. In some perceptive ways they think its similar.
Third, if u don't know motherload then don't comment anything about this game being original. Motherload was the first game to come up with the "lets dig stuff for money" idea.
Ur comment really looks like a big troll.
O/T 4/5 : good game, good idea but can use some enhancement. Keep up the good work dev!

It WOULD be a nice game if it wouldn't start lagging all of a sudden. I even tried playing at minimal quality - didn't help. For now 1.5/5

best graphics in the entire unity contest. But the gameplay is fairly basic. An upgrade or mor epleasing reward system would rectify this... powerups?

Reasonably fun game, though I fail at it, lol. Only issues I had with this were some textures and alpha layers didn't render properly for me, which made menu nav at beginning a bit slow, but it's more then likely an issue with my pc, not sure. Good work!

I keep getting blown up when I'm trying to dig out a cave or something. I'll come back to the game when there is some sort of way to detect that. Or it's removed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really good game. There should be upgrades, and you should really remove lives because of the type of game this is. My only gripe is that, even though the ground is colored, the monsters and the robot aren't. Beings + Color = better.

I dont realy get the A button. I go ball I roll and lol but no defence bonus... werid. Also the gas bubbles... damn bubbles...

I'll wait for the full version of this game, with missions and upgrades available. But I'm afraid that this game may not win the competition because it doesn't present the uniqueness and the ability of the unity platform.

You'd think that anyone who could build spacecraft with the ability to detect these artifacts on the planets and bots to go dig them up could equip them with explosive gas detectors so they don't keep getting destroyed looking for the blasted things...

ok so i stole the shiny thingy and got back to the ship with some score... what now ?
the game has a good start but theres nothing to it after that...
make an upgrade system/shop submiting score gathered in the caves would be nice too... also make the map more visible where there are small caves where medium etc.

I have some ideas to implement in the game. 1 Regenerating shield. 2 Gas pocket radar with % to found one near. 3 An Arpon with rope to descend safe or ball stance shield for some seconds to deflect the atacks and green rays. 4 More presure depending on the deep, that presure can slow more and more the robot. 5 Dark rooms or zones of the cave with enemies and the option to carry a torch to enlight that places. 6 Move, jump or use the items of the robot can use some petrol or gas to have a limited tank, and the same with batteries for the weapons. 7 Ball stance able to move or jump or drill maybe? 8 maybe also some zombies? XD
I really love this game, develope it more please!

only slightly "inspired" by minecraft, you got those trademark dirt "blocks" with the grass on top, rare shiny specks in walls, that you dig out and get cool stuff, not to mention alien things that explode when you get close, "don't dig straight down or you will get punished by random gas (lava) pockets that will instantly kill you"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
dont remove the gas pockets, it would be a wasted work time. instead, make something to identify them, like a sequel of sounds according the proximity (which reminds sonic water stages). or even something more complex to implement like a minesweeper-like gameplay.

to whoever was asking why this is 2.5D:
"The term "2.5D" is also applied to 3D games that use polygonal graphics to render the world and/or characters, but whose gameplay is restricted to a 2D plane."
as for the game itself, it's a fun demo, and my be great in the future. needs a lot more features to keep players busy. the updates planned so far sound awesome. I'll certainly be back when those are added!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Needs a nice upgrade system and money to buy garbage with. I know it is the same old thing, but the upgrades give you something to work towards. Like the old miner game. Very good. HOpe to see more soon

it's a fun game. however i died from a random gas pocket. that they exist, fine. that they do damage, fine. but i was at full shield and i was instantly dead. wtf?
also, A lets you fold up and it allows you to roll, but only when you already have momentum. nice. but why does this armored ball mode not protect me from lasers? it would be much better to have this as some "invulnerable" mode. or well, "less vulnerable".
