Thanks to this game I didn't fail so hard in my biology A-level. Who says video games destroy your education and life?

I admit when I first played this on Newgrounds I thought it was kind of cheesy, but strangely addictive. It also helped me remember the different cell organs for Bio class. Score!

@gameinsky, an ameoba has a longer genitic structure than a platypus because it is a much older creature with a MUCH higher birth / death ratio. You build up a lot of crap in the genome that way during transcription. Your own dna is full of crap your body doesnt even code for anymore. Hell female humans dont even code for one of thier X chromosomes which makes them less susceptible to genetic diseases carried on the human X (making them 50% less likely than a male with an X genetic disease who is at ~100%). And yes, that also means the female body codes for one less chromosome than a male, who is basically an augmented female (which is why boy dogs have nipples). Ha!

holy.... i spent 6 hours trying to beat this game, especially the last lvl which takes a little bit of thinking, still wonderful, lysosomes+ 50% armor on the cell wall means i dont have to worry about anything, then just jack myself up with chloroplasts, it depends on your lvl, and whether or not you want to sacifice everything to get done quick or set yourself in stone and progress slowly BUT if you get infected and dont have much atp you are screwed!!! -personnal experiance- lol i was so mad i had 7 chloroplasts for peets sake

Wow! It just so happens that I'm doing this in Biology this term![ Not semester, I am english :P] This will totally rock my results!

"Also thanks...Dr. David Dewitt at Liberty University for providing lots of support and biological guidance."
I Had him for Cell Biology in my undergrad :)

5/5 almost 4 years in biology, never had such a funny lecture and thanks for reminding me some basics. An idea for the second episode : Learn Mitosis ! Great work

what an amazing game:D massively original, loads of fun, and better that 2 years of cellular biology.... wow. 10/5. scratch that 100/5

P.s. level 6 was killing me untill I got patient, I realised that with one infection on my nucleus, the next waves wont start spawning untill you heal it. just leave it there, and build up your 'economy' and defenses. Make sure to leave enough splicer cells to stop the infection spreading though! That level took me about an hour to figure out the rest of the game combined maybe 30 mins.

lvl 8 is easy just dont build poison until your ready. Build up your defenses, and attacking cells. Then slowly do poisons. Every 25 sets off a wave so keep that in mind and try to set waves off as your previous one finishes. Also it makes it easier once a wave spawns to run somewhere. If you sit still all of them get you at once instead of a few every move. If your sitting on 25 yellows 10 greens and 50 shield 50 splitters your not going to have a problem fighting 10-15 at a time.

This really needs a sandbox version. Also, possibility to divide your own cell or attack other cells via toxins or others?

Suggestion to the Developer: When I try to use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out in-game, it also moves the browser up and down. I like using the mouse wheel, but when I use it on this game it just annoys the heck out of me. Maybe you could fix it? If so, that would be awesome.

It's an amazing game :) But, I would invent a survival mode or something along those lines so that you can keep playing after. But a very great game and the biology in it is all accurate :)

5/5 Absolutely epic. I love this not only because I'm a gamer, but also b/c I'm a biologist XD. The best part is you got to teach basic biology while still keeping it light and fun. Great job =). It would be cool though if you threw mitosis in there to make more cells clones so it goes from micro scale to a macro scale. After you make enough cells you can make eukaryotic platypus's and through meiosis in there and have the player keep the platypus's alive in a defense kinda game with weapons etc. lol. Cheers man. BTW for the toxin level just chill out and collect about 50-60 Fatty acids. Then just spam the shit out of the toxin button (50 times) and keep 10 ish FA for keeping your cell alive while the toxins spawn. I beat it easily by building 50% defensins, 14 lysosomes, and spammed 30 splicers before i started making toxins. =D

At some stage in the alligator I cannot create any peroxisomes and toxin. I have all the ingredients and am not at max. Any thoughts?
