Enjoyable as this game might be, it must be mentioned that the biologists involved are outspoken supporters of "intelligent design", that is, creationism. And it shows in the game:

Excerpt: "It is not an educational game, it is a miseducational game." Worth keeping in mind.

ugh... i just made cellular suicide but i was expecting a huge splash instead of a popup saying: Your DNA just died. =S

The last bit isnt hard. Go slowly and always have tons of defense (not just defence cells either) and then when you get near the end spam toxins and it will finish the level without killing the viruses

So I figured releasing massive amounts of toxin in a quick burst would be an effective way to beat the last level... Then I realized that new viruses are summoned at certain levels of toxicity. Let's just say the alligator miraculously developed AIDS.

Not sure if anyone else has run into this glitch, but at level 8 when I failed/died (lysis), my "cell" remained without a membrane, everything zeroed out, and it was stuck like that. I went into the menu to try and restart it manually, and it got stuck on the "Died (lysis)" screen. Had to restart the page altogether.

really need a way to change Fatty acids back into glucose. I'm doing the level where the alligator eats you and for the last 5 minutes i've been stuck standing still with around 500 ATP and 0 glucose with 160 FA. Its kinda lame...

wow GREAT F*C*ING GAME. AMAZING. honestly i'm probably going to show this game to my old middle school cause we have life science and instead of doing shit loads of hw all you have to do is this game for hw and like 1 or 2 sheets proving you read the info. most of you ppl, i bet, would rather have [1 computer game+2HW sheets] than [8-10Hw sheets]. most of this was acurate except most of what nobbs said.
PS nobbs... depening on the cell, the number of organelles may vary vastly. one example would be the mitochondria in a mouse shrew versus a sloth. a mouse shrew will have a bit more mitochondria due to the excessive energy consumption of it's heart that beats insanely fast while a sloth on the other hand has less because it has adapted to it's environment that almost always has it surrounded by food which is why it moves so slow and does not need to expend so much energy.

A wonderful game. ^^ I'm glad I paid attention in my Biology classes. This did great to supplement what I haven't studied in years. xD
I know a few teachers. Maybe they'll be able to suggest this to their students.

Since no one liked my last comment im gonna fix that. Great game, had a ton of fun while learning. Can't wait for a sequel (please!) and hopes its longer.

I seem to have run into a glitch. I'm on level 8, and have gotten the Toxins to 100%, and I cannot make anymore. Yet, the objective still says that I need to produce 100 Toxins. Unless I need to do something special to trigger the objective being completed.

I would like a cellkraft 2 with interactions of different one or few-celled organisms (including a somewhat random development of your cell due to random external influences) and information that is even closer to (and more usefull in) biology class.
- I think this game has a huge unrealized potential.
With some tweaking of the controls I could even imagine a pvp RTS-battle between human-controlled-cells and npc-controlled viruses and external influences. Fight for resources, survive and develop to prove that you are the fittest...
