Hey, just popping in to say I think about this game every so often and was quite surprised and hopeful to see the creator still working on it, even on another platform!

I just learned that Kalevala was the name of a Finnish epic. How similar is the story in this game to that of the poem?

Thank you for this game!!! I've played it at least three times because it is so good.(I just finished speed running it in 37 minutes with the good ending.) I am happy to hear that you are making Legacy of Kalevala, and I hope to be able to play that many times as well. Thank you for everything you have done. :)

here's a tip, once you unlock the double jump you can tank a hit on the wall to the left of the man+dog statue, land on the ledge during invincibility frames, and get to the top, which unlocks the dash. please upvote this if it's useful, ok?

The game dev on Kalevala (Nov 2014): http://chainedlupine.com/8-articles/6-lok-post-mortem ''I've been quite pleased with Legend of Kalevala. It is my first major Flash game after a very lengthy lapse of working on games. (My last full-sized game was retro-styled shmup, released back in 2006.) While it's not the largest project I have worked on, it has turned out to be the most successful. I will document how the game was created, the initial jam version of LoK, discuss internals and bug-testing and finally how the game was affected by online piracy.''

I came back here only to find that after nearly 9 years, the developer is finally updating this game, I had hopes, and I glad I stuck with it.

I've experienced troubles with the crystal podiums too, but it's weirder: the crystals could randomly deactivate themselves! I even once saw an already-activated crystal suddenly stop growing all by itself when I was just watching from a distance. I had to revisit all of the three again and again to make sure they were kept activated until the gate finally decided to let me pass, of course, after saving, refreshing and reloading the game for each attempt due to the other already-known detection bug. Is this related to the version of the Flash Player?

Used to play this on Kongregate on my old account, no idea where it went. Loved it then, still love it now. It's just a masterpiece, although I seem to be quite bad at the end game boss. Hope the expansion will come, although it does seem quite unlikely. Just want to share my appreciation for your developing this! It's great!

Am I the only one who found this game similar to Pseudolonwolf's style in the Raider series? And, why did a finnish person name the planet of all people? I am a finnophile, but I just don't understand.

5 star game and story, 1 star final boss. All your powers start to stumble over each other, you have to glide to clear the explosions, but glide negates the bounce until you land, and you can't land because there's fire traps, and you can't bounce because the only angle where you can hit the ship also bounces you into the ship. I'm sure there's a pixel perfect strategy to beat this but the way I see it, you'll take damage no matter what you do.

Beware, if you activate first other crystal podiums than the one behind the yellow force field, the game never opens the door. Too bad...

After getting best ending, am I only one who happen to ask: after planetary shield activation, what happened to Kuriiri and human. Were they left for rest of their lifes at hostile planet, unable to leave due to planetary shield?

"It's like finding a world filled of xenophobic janitors who go into a psychotic rage when strangers approach... It doesn't make sense" 4 years later: Yep, that makes a lotta sense now
