has anyone else realized that the name of the badge "jump magic jump" is the name of a song david bowie sings in the movie "Labyrinth"

I love the story of this game which drove me to try to complete it, but in all honestly, I find this game too annoying to continue. (I just got glide and stopped after getting stuck in the "secret room" for reference.) I feel like the controls are too touchy, but after switching movement to wasd, it was much easier for me. I feel like the game is neither too difficult nor too easy, but making sure you land on those little one-space squares, or trying to jump over things in a very confined space, is, for lack of a better word, annoying. I also understand that it seems to be an issue I have with all of these 2-D retro style RPGs with very specific respawn points.
Tl;dr: The mobs are too easy for this game to be hard, so its just annoying when you die and so on.

This is a fantastic game. I love platformers and such, and this game just blew me away. The graphics are perfect, and the music really enhances the game. An excellent story. Thank you so much for creating this, and I look forward with great anticipation to the next installment.

Urgh, I decided to replay this after so long, and found a bug. There are 3 crystal podiums? I got all three of them and it says not all 3 are active.

Aaargh. Once the final boss gets to half health and starts always throwing bombs in threes it's far too hard for my liking.

Sorry about the false music statement, my computer was a derp yesterday, it's fine... scratch that it's greater than fine it's SUPERIOR to most VGM's I've listened too.

Amazing game. I was going to do...and still may...do my first LP on it (I would actually like your approval/thoughts). Great music to complement a great game (very metroid-ish). Would you ever consider putting the game up for download? I would love to have it on my flash drive to show around.

By far, one of the best games I've played on Kongregate. Awesome plot, very good gameplay, and it was all done in a very short amount of time. Can't congratulate the maker enough =)!

This was an absolutely fantastic game. Interesting and fun. I actually found myself reading the flavor text, something a lot of games on here don't make me do.

buildabear214 Are you talking about the last boss? If yes, I was stuck at the same boss. So then I looked at the "Best" comments. There was a comment talking about how to win all the bosses and get the good and bad endings. I saw there that he said/wrote that you have to jump on the bombs the last boss throws.

Found the secrets in World Ruminations and the secret on the mountain and the secret where the mines are. Are there any others? btw I did them all by accident lol.

Spelling error: "I landed on his planet." I think you meant "this." I believe this was the memory snippet when he found his capsule above where the game started. (this was the only spelling error I found, good job!)

I think one of my favorite things about this game is the different key options. I absolutely HATE when I play a game like this and I only have the option they set forth. I've been using WSAD + Enter and it's amazing. Great game! :D
Ps - "purple metallic pterodactylgreyhound mix" made me lmao. xD

I just got a trophy that reminded me I need to read more KODT... even here I'm reminded that I should be doing something else...

The final boss is strange because it seems really hard but if you know what you are doing it becomes a cakewalk. First off if you haven't figured it out the goal is to tackle the bombs it throws back at it in order to ground it, and then when it is on the ground attack it with your spikes to actually damage it. (If you are having trouble hitting it with a bomb I found that jumping to hit the bombs in the air made it a lot easier, but use whatever works for you.) The cakewalk piece is that the first thing it will always do after taking to the sky is throw more bombs. With a bit of luck you don't have to see it fire a bullet other than waiting for the first bomb.

Great game it reminded me a bit of the old nes metroid game. I enjoyed all the little secrets talking about the game you could find trying to find ways to climb out of the maps. Only thing that would be nice to have is being able to shoot in the air since some flyers can be a real pain sitting above you and shooting which i started just ignoring and running on after a while. Keep up the good work.

Great game, but there were a few annoyances. The game automatically pauses when focus is lost, which is fine, but doesn't unpause when focus is returned, which is particularly silly while in a mouse-driven menu. Unexpected easter eggs can be accidentally dismissed with no way to see them again. The trophy descriptions in the Ancestor Records are incomplete, with no way to review the text you see when you initially receive one (and which usually explains why you've received it). Finally, I found the game intermittently hiccupped, pausing for a second or two. The more entities (like projectiles) that were being created and destroyed, the more frequently it hiccupped. The strange thing is that this seems to have no correlation with either memory or CPU use; the game just takes a break.

I do hope that you create the sequal soon. I cannot fathom what it could be if you play off of the "Good" ending, though the other one, maybe.

@juggernaut5509: There is an upgrade in the game that allows you to run. While running you gain a sheild of sorts and start flashing blue. This allows you go through the yellow fields.
Interestingly the way the game is coded you and enemies have the same response to the yellow fields. So *they* can't pass until *you* start running. Not sure this should even be called a bug, but I found it to be amusing.

"Almost there...Yes! Finally! I made it to the last place, after passing dangerous enemies and acid filled pits... I finally made it! WAIT WHATS THAT??? THERE WAS A BACK DOOR TO THIS PLACE!!?!!"

annoying game cause every few seconds the screen that u would get if u paused kept coming up at the worst moments like when i'm just about to be killed

Amazing game. I loved the story line, the graphics, the playability, the puzzles, the combat, everything. I was even running around to find the little fun facts, and they didn't even affect the game. 5/5. I couldn't think of a way to improve the game even if I tried.

great game. Only flaw: Bad Sound Effects. Music was good, but the sound of shooting spines was enough for me to mute all the sfx.

Awesome game, haven't been this gripped in a while.
I've finished now tho and I'm bored...
How long till this expansion you promised? :p

"The trip was a long, violent roller-coaster ride through the atmosphere."
- It's an alien with no memory of what happened, and it somehow recalls the concept of a "roller-coaster" that is human made and obviously not of this time. I had to laugh.

I like the retro feel and awesome story. It draws you in. Also I like the little secret hidden at the snowy mountain top. I bet this game won that contest too, if it didn't, it should have. 5/5!!!
