"Why people make such a big deal for chavalry?" someone asked, well,if i say that a full-speed charge can kill entire squads with a single attack, will you change your mind? because that's what cavalry is made for... charging...

This is a fantastic strategy game. Easy to beat highest difficulty if you get good at combining different boar/shield formations, sending troops in and out, and constantly charging. Knights become amazing if you learn to position them so that they can charge alternatively with foot soldiers.

yeh the taunting is a bit much especially on the higher dificulties where youre men are at 50 percent morale before you even engage the enemy, i mean they enemy calls you names and 4 units including general break imean seriously

Ok, last comment. Down to 3.0 stars. They make a big deal about the mounted knights. But they suck. You can't use formations, so that drops all stats by 1 (for all intents and purposes); they also ALWAYS go after the nearby foes, so they never get to charge or use speed; they have great base stats but come out on the loosing side every time even with "brutal attacks"; they flee easily (had 200 run away when facing weaker troops and we had more morale). - Great concept overall, needs tweaking.

Cool game! - Runs slow (battles take longer, should be able to disable extended animations), and the Narration-battle #s don't line up. Explained I had more soldiers in narration, then gave me an army with less than the opponent. Meh detail, but yeah. - Anyway def a 4-star game. Hard to quit playing.

Best strategy ever: Bring their morale down from a 100 to anything else, then spam taunt, do not bother to attack rly, in 1 turn full of taunting enemy's morale drops so much they start running away

it's cool to think of "what ifs" for history. like what if the norwegians won in 1066, then the 100 yrs war would never happen. my favorite idea is after 1066, england wins the 100yrs war, then somehow the war of spanish succesion (spain and france v.s. coalition of german and italian states, along with england) happens, leading britain-france to rule spain as well. this empire would colonize all of the americas and rule the world, or at least 1/2 of it.

Always loved this game, and I really appreciate the skirmish bit. Very in depth and well thought out tactical options ie the flanking, impassable terrain, and battle formations. Even the unit point-buy system adds a layer of strategy meaning that you have to be constantly thinking and planning to win. However, I've found that I'm having a lot of trouble connecting to the multiplayer servers. Is this on my end or the games'?

The taunt function needs to be limited somehow. One unit should not be able to "scare" off an entire army. While I was messing around and experimenting with archers, I left the sole remaining unit alone (except for firing at it with some archers) and that one unit was able to lower my Army's morale from over 60 to 0 and win. I had 7 or 8 units.
Perhaps weight the effectiveness of taunt based on the size of the forces.

Did a charge with a boars snout formation. The units that didn't engage an enemy ran off the enemies side of the screen and now the game is stuck on "charge" animation.

They don't flee because you call them names or anything, they flee because your troops are showing that they don't fear the ennemy, that the ennemi is miserable compared to what they've already faced in the past, they're showing confidence through these insults, and the opponent, seeing that the ennemy seem unbreakable despite all these losses, is discouraged and abandons the fight, as victory doesn't seem to show up. Remember that these guys are putting their lives on the line...

seems like medieval battles were won simply by calling the enemy names. I can already imagine Vikings returning home, somebody asking how was it? "Well, we outflanked them, but then they started yelling at us and calling us names, so we fled."

good game but the soldiers are cowards. I can never put the difficulty on hard without my entire army running away because of insults.(I wish the the northern Europeans were like Spartans back then)
