Really fun game, however, if you increased the track payouts a little bit, I think it would encourage people to play longer. IMO.

My new favorite game on Kongregate. I hope you guys keeps pumping out more games like this. I am having issues managing my squirrel's energy and money early game but since the game is so addicting, I keep coming back to try new tactics. Love it! 5/5

I think I know how this game started. "What does IRS stand for?" "International Racing Squirrels, duh!" Is that right, Channel4 and playniac?
Hehe. Actually it started when we read this article about the relative running speeds of different animals! http://playni.ac/irs-sciam (reply from Playniac; your 5-star rating will enable us make next version!)

Nice game. Really like the graphics. The tutorial needs to be made better and a bit more detailed though. For example, after it was over and I was doing races, I didn't know how to replenish the energy of my squirrel for races and whether my house was good enough for it's energy requirements, etc. Due to the "time always moving" concept, you can't freely explore the game going through all buttons to see what does what or you'll end up paying bills without being able to do enough races.

Game tips: If you are trying to make cash the best race isn't the latest one, its the highest level race you can do without using powerups; Those eat your profit margin. Save regularly as those 15% interest rates add up.....Make sure you have full energy before each race.I use two pairs of racers so one set is always rested...... After level 20 invest heavily in clothing! Shop items allow your racer to have over its maximum stats which is the only way to consistently win the highest possible race repeatedly and cuts down the grind to 25 by an incredible amount.... also..... never underestimate the restorative power of tea....
Sounds like you are a master squirrel manager! Great tips - thanks for sharing. I'm going to DM you to invite you to beta programme ;) (reply from Playniac; your 5-star rating helps us keep developing!)

Great game, these management games always get me addicted. Although I still don't understand how did the squirrels in the 1st race all of sudden get some ultra boosts, so that I keep finishing last with my well-trained squirrel. And also the boost bonus should also pop-up when the fast forward is activated. Nevertheless, I still support you with my 5-star rating!
Thanks for your kind words and 5-star rating - much appreciated! One hint - make sure your squirrels don't have low energy when they race... (reply from Playniac)

Honestly have no idea what the stats do. Strength? in a race? stamina? prolly obvious; focus? well he is a squirrel, but what does that *mean* in regards to racing?? also noticed some errors while in the bank screen, between cash, current, and savings not adding up
Hi, All the stats combined help the squirrels in races, but if you look at the specific race tracks you will see some use particular stats more than others. That's what the coloured sections of track indicate. You can also see how your opponent's stats compare. (reply from Playniac; we need your 5-star rating to continue developing this game!)

I would have loved this game if it would have been a manager game. Good concept though. Make it just managing your squirrels without time, without racing and I will love it.

I always give a game time to show its stuff, but after an hour this game completely fails for me.
Unexplained stats, zero training and random performance by the opponents - making the stats, items and budgeting even more unreliable...
Give the stats some meaning
Allow the player to train instead of race.
Make a tutorial of how you expect the player to approach this game, so the player is up and running before facing the dice roll mechanics of the race.
Side note: Change the driver salary to suit their stats, not how many races they win. A driver who regularly loses 4 out of 5 racers and therefore requires you spend most of the winnings on boosts to get them in a ranked position, should not get a salary increase!
Thanks for playing our game! The salary is dependant on game level, rather than race performance. The stats are linked to different tracks... There's a walkthrough here you might find useful: http://playni.ac/irs-walkthrough (reply from Playniac)

My game auto-saved, but when I loaded it back up, my character was back at his base stats instead of the 200 and 300+ I had gotten him to. :/
The game saves at regular intervals and, yes, after every race - look out for the save icon bottom left. Thanks for playing and rating us! (Reply from Playniac)

Okay, first I have 345 cash. Then I end up in a deposit jungle, withdraw and loose track of my cash because the menus suck, and suddenly I am paying interest, without ever having raced between the withdrawing and depositing. Suddenly, I am in debt for about 80 Cash.
WHAT?

I enjoy this game very much, the only thing I don't like is that towards the end it takes a long time to level up, so I'm racing the same race over and over again until I unlock the next one at the next lvl up. My stats are maxed and I'm just racing to gain the exp needed to move on. Also, shop items seem pretty pointless to me, I almost never used the shop and came in 1st most of the time. Rated 5/5 regardless of it's faults because of it's successes. Keep on making these awesome games!
Hi. Thanks for the rating!!! I'm interested to hear more about your game, and what level's you got to when those dynamics emerged. Also if you used something else instead of the shop - e.g. more training. Will message you direct. (Reply from Playniac. Your rating helps us to make you more games!)

I'm enjoying the game. I like the concept of having to pay bills (although I've lost a couple times already). I would like a bigger variety of announcer comments.

I gave you your 5 stars.
The interface is really good, and the idea is good as well. I like that there are pause buttons on every screen.
However, as many others have said, before level 16 or so, the levelling is too fast, and after, it is way too slow. In the beginning, it is pretty brutal, as every race you level up, but you don't have enough money to pay the increase in salary and house. On top of that, there is a random event after a few days, which can break your game.
Maybe adding something else as a goal would be good as well, because just making money is not really good enough, especially when you end up making more from the bank then from races. What would be nice, is that the opponents would not be random, but would be people to beat in each race and you would get a medal to be the best in each, or something like that.
Also the last few races are too hard. I was level 24 and tried the last one on the easier setting, and I had to buy all the shop items to win it.

Great Game... well for the most part, 4/5 youjust need to add more things to do, maybe you should add a minigame or two.

it is a very good game. i do like it. i give it 5/5. but i found my self end game too soon due to money problem. but dont twink the game on just because of me. i sure you have a good reason it like that.
Thanks for your comment and THANKS for your 5-star rating! Much appreciated. You should open a current account in the game to give yourself more flexibility with your finances and race often. Also we have a feature coming soon that helps with this... (reply from Playniac)

Not too bad, I like it and it's one of the best management games around, three things though:
-levelling is too fast before level 18, then it becomes boring, it's just like farming.
-having more than three squirrels is worse than useless
-you should be able to buy more than one thing at a time from the shops, buying teas when you're level 20 takes daya in the game.
Thanks so much for your kind words! One hint - level up your homes to avoid needing to buy energy drinks. Also for multiple squirrels, use training on the weaker ones. Have fun! We did slow the clock down in the shop - I'll check that is still working as expected and slow it further if necessary. (reply from Playniac; please rate game 5-star so we can make next version!)

Constructively, one of the key things in management games in giving players information so they can choose what cost/benefit they want to choose. When selecting a race we are only shown what the prize money is for 1st place, but not 2nd or 3rd. Players will never win 1st place in an hour of playtime, and are likely not to within 2 hours either. The 2nd and 3rd place prizes are literally how they will pay for the rent, salaries, and other costs of the first month, but we have no idea what those even are. Critical information is withheld. The 2nd track has a 100 acorn entry fee, is consistently placing 3rd there more income than placing 2nd in the free course? There is no way to tell.

The ONLY thing I wish was changed is the way the day system works. IMO, time management games should have you manually progress the days (with regards to how this game plays). Just a simple "Next Day" button instead of a timer. This give more control to the player without actually changing the gameplay.
