A nice game, not as good as the last one (1066).I notice that some post comments as " The French are invading this time? Comon guys, know you're contry. England only invaded France once (The 100 years war) while the French attacked a lot.
I agree with those talking about the handling but hey? Everyone likes a good challenge.
I thind channel 4 games are great. May i justed one about the trojan war? Or what about the battls of Alexandre the Great?

uhm...it's a nice concept...i hope that the "alpha" version of this game bring some good modification on speed and handling....it can be a 5/5 for sure but for me now it's 3.5/5...keep on this way guys! :D

The update seems to have made the game worse than it was when it first came out. Now i press a little acceleration and i go ZOOOOM!!!! and that makes it so i can circle a dam boat to kill it.

I love pirate games (Age of Booty, Pirates, etc) but this one, while interesting to play, is absolutely frustrating in its controls. The speed factor (either full slow with anchor drop, or top speed with all 3 sails makes it totally frustrating, and while I find the concept interesting, I'm only rating it a 2 due to the frustrating controls - turning with control becomes next-to-impossible with this. This absolutely needs to be improved.

this game drives me mad, i need just 1 lvl for the arcade 6. but cant get any other weapons. whatever i do or try. i dont get to use the other weapons, any1 help me?

Nice game, but it would be really helpfull (and more realisitc0 if we had more options other than full sail and wiegh anchor. Atleast a half sail option

I like it except the fact we have no god dam idea where our cannons will shoot. Sometimes it shoots on the left, then on the right.

An excellent and unique game. I appreciate the attention to detail, but would like to see more focus put on tactical items such as wind direction, as well as more crew and ship options. However, an excellent game overall, 5/5.

Great game but during the navigation and protection missions it is almost impossible to get in the checkpoints and dodge the barrels. Then trying to protect boats from ships is also quite hard 4/5 great game though.

It hangs during loading all the time for me. I have probably restarted this game around 50 times by now because of that bug.

i think that the weapons system works well but I wish we could upgrade weaponry, also the controls are very frustrating tight spaaces ( thats inwhat she said ) 3/5

The game was alright but it made my computer very laggy, not sure how to turn off the zoom effect that sometimes occurs and also turning is always bad. Overall, not bad though. 6/10

The game as such isn't bad -- but the resource hunger is a JOKE. I have an A64 3200 with 1G RAM and the later (more compelx) missions are simply unplayable. >700MB Physical memory and 1,5G Swap file for a f**** Flash game is RIDICULOUS! Even MASS EFFECT runs better and need less resources than this little Pirates clone of C64 gameplay complexity. Would be 5/5 for fun, but for this totally inept programming I can give no more than 2/5.

Could be a very good game, but frankly, the speed control makes no sense. should be more than just full stop and full go. Fix that and you'll have a very good game on your hands. I'll check in again, if it's fixed it can be a 5/5 easily, for now it's 2/5

Also I haven't seen any indication that the chain shot actually does what it is supposed to do, i.e. take down an enemy's sails so it can't move effectively. It just seems to be another range/damage combination.

Seems good overall, but the handling kind of ruins it for me. I feel like a pinball pilot, not the captain of a ship. The fact that you bounce off of islands doesn't help the pinball feeling. The auto-zooming camera can be pretty annoying as well, as it often leaves me unable to determine how the other ships are oriented with respect to my own ship.

a way i found to get the last loot is to ram the other ship while firing or even to just sideswipe it. It also works well for other loots so you don't have to circle back around.

Hw do you reduce framerates or quality because its getting rediculus that i can play multiplayer 1 / 5 intill it has lower quality button or stops the framerate problem

Excellent. One of the best games on Kongregate so far. Only letdown is that it's so short. Kudos to the people who made it - be great to have a larger version. I really enjoyed it.

These things don't move anything like ships would. I especially don't like that there are only two "speeds": full speed and stop. And there's the annoying zoom-in, which happens totally randomly.
All in all, lots of place for improvements.

This "top comments" thing is really only there to quiet dissenting voices. I read through a bunch that were "under rating threshold" and most of them were politely criticizing points in the game. Legitimate points that if fixed could help the game's playability. But instead of being seen, and possibly addressed, they get buried... Sad really...
