The game has a number of cheaters getting prolong your life, change the path of the boat suddenly (avoiding enemy fire), taking life mysteriously, concentrating shots strangely ...
These cheaters have even alter the counter making XP points amounts impossible to do playing (That happened in the previous multiplayer classification -Global top 10 - which provided the game, not in the KONGREGATE one) ...
The old players, like me, we know each other. We know who plays without cheating and who is a tricky player. The strange thing is that the game, which for a long time does not work in multiplayer mode, continue to allow these tricks.
But hey!, all the naval stories have their pirates, ghosts ships and mysteries...
So my ships: LA HISPANIOLA, EL SAN JUAN and EL GLORIOSO, always have a priority mission: sink the cheaters!!!

if you guys think this ship is hard to handle go on a real ship that size and try to sail it you will see the handling on the games ship is alot better then a real ship

An Update with Teambattles ("Eliminate other Team" or "Capture the enemy Flagship") in Multiplayer would be great! Some Fog would make it also deeper in tactic.

Nice game. I agree with a previous post regarding ship speed. We should be able to control the amount of sail that is 'unfurled" (0-3). 3/5

good idea bad execution, its a little too steep of a learning curve to go from like 3 enemies or 2 enemies, to 6 full fledged hardcore enemies. i have redone that level over 5 times. each time the last enemy killing me, every time, annoying. their ships turn faster and have more defence, even if i gear my ship that way. idk why or how. so ill give it 3 stars.

it just spreads after awhile, making it less effective against massed infantry- Which, when used against enemy ships, is less an issue since there's such a large target. Many more projectiles each dealing low damage that spread/random fire would be much more appropriate. Chain shot as well was used for destroying rigging and leaving large gaping holes in the ships, due to the linked cannonballs- they were sub-bore cannonballs linked with chain. They had a less effective range than regular cannonballs, but they certainly didn't just drop off as much sooner as you illustrate.
Still, for what it is, it's not that bad.

even with a crapton of handling, handling is bad. Fits the way that actual ships move, but it's anti-fun. Also, some of the missions feel like they're designed just to make you lose, like the "defend the ally ship that sits there and does nothing to defend itself" missions. Another qualm I have is that you have the shot going in order of power, and that as power increases range decreases- In actuality, grape shot was very weak against a ship, but excellent against the crew, and was used to take a ship mostly intact while killing off any crew- often used by boarding parties of pirates. It wasn't strickly musket balls either- Especially when a crew ran low/out of ammo, they'd use whatever is available at hand, and THOSE would certainly have crap range- But actual grape shot, due to how it's fired, actually has relatively decent range-

Early tutorial missions need to address the uses of different ammunition types. Or put it in the instructions. I'm left to guess work, sailing around and trying to gauge how my chain shot compares to my regular shot. I know my "Pirates!", a game on which this draws from, so I have some kind of groundwork to build an idea. Still, it's not laid out. Make it so.

These games made by channel four are completely underrated. They are some of the best games on kongregate. Why do people rate them down?Maybe because the games are educational and they come up with common excuses such as "boring" or "to hard to play".

I love the history and everything but i have to give this a 4 out of 5 instead of a 5, it's so damn hard to play, the wind always is my enemy D:

More people should like this game. This is FINALY a historically accurate pirate/navy game. This has 3.86/5 because most people like corny pirate games. This has REAL battles that took place at a REAL time. Also, the game has fabulous graphics! This deserves 4.3/5!

This game is completely under rated. These games done by Channel Four are historically accurate, very good quality, and has had time and effort put in.

DENNI, the reason my energy bar keeps going up is i play survivor mode. also, when you quit, i still get your loot, unless somebody beats me to it. it's the bonus for having so many points. nobody is cheating. only you and your friends are quitting.

this game use to be a whole lot of fun. now it's just full of people who quit. namely DENNI and RT. i could name more. you think you are real clever by driving off out of bounds and quitting, then coming back to play again with a full ship. no matter how good you think you are, you are a quitter. when i see you log on, i go, "oh, the quitters have joined." i own all three rankings of this game. i didn't get them by quitting. so keep it up little boys. i would think one day you will grow up and actually play through to the finish. i couldn't tell you how many times i have been on my last leg, and made a dramatic come back. of course, i'm not a quitter, so i get rewarded. there's a big difference between be a kid and acting like a kid.
