great strategy: All you need is speed and handling as high as you can get, if you go fast enough and ram someone's ship, they are damaged and you are not. Please rate this up so people can see it. Thanks

Pretty good. I agree that customization of the ship itself would be a great improvement. I also think it would be nice if there was a selection of different ships available, that you could select based on your rank and/or buy, e.g.
sloop < corvette < frigate < galleon < man o' war
I like the concept and this is a good kind of strategy game (even if it's filed under 'action') but it needs improvement.

I dont see why everyone says its so good. I don't have noobish skills but advanced combat in TRAINING is simply impossible, the wind always pulls you off. And then you have the computers, always hitting you, never missing. Awful game. Just Awful. Cant believe it came from the same guys who made 1066!

very nice game but the wind is terrible i mean you should at least be allowed to buy better handling and make it so loot last longer or so you automatically collect it

i did as user "ablefcon" recommended and i still don't go anywhere when i get into the multiplayer game. i have to keeep changing chat rooms and the current high scores, then something kicks in and i can start playing. sometimes it doesn't happen at all.

okay, is the multiplayer server problem a kongregate problem or trafalgar software problem? the game in my opinion is a great game, but i'm ready to give up playing if the multiplayer server issues don't get fixed. i.e. when you come into a game your ship doesn't move, the jaggies problem, getting kicked out, sailing around "ghost ships."
do i give kred tips to get this fixed? or do i tip for good service?

Not bad, but the multiplayer lagging issue REALLY needs fixing. It's really annoying to land a solid hit on a ship only to see it jump backwards by about half its own length and have the damage you just inflicted undone.

I also have a suggestion, Instead of just the compass rose and the dots maybe some form of minimap or directing arrows to loot or an option to look over a map in the pause screen that shows real time locations of the boat and enemy boats? Better stopping abilities would be nice and yes another upgrade system to boot. I mean I love the game it is wonderful in many ways, but it is agreed that it needs some refining.

cursedwinds is a horrible game. The AI is the most predicable and meaningless since Space Invaders, and the "boats" merely slide around the screen without regard to wind, current, or even turning radius. It's laughable. Complaining about not being able to upgrade ships in this game is also absurd, since the crew is how you upgrade your ship! Do you want more speed? Buy the guy that gives more speed! More armor? Buy the guy that gives more armor.
All that said, this is best sailing battle game since the original Sid Meier's Pirates, and BSD Sail.

You can upgrade your ships much more in Cursed Winds, too!

@ Retrorocket : Crew member helping durability makes plenty of sense. In the Navy, a lot of stress is put on damage control. In this case, logically the durability can increase by adding a crew member that knows how to plug holes quickly and efficiently as well as put out any fires without hesitation. My question is how does additional crew members (more weight) make a ship's top speed faster!

whenever I exit multiplayer game, I have to refresh the page before I can join a new game. It hangs up on the loading screen.

Really nice game and everything but it gets really annoying when I steer out of control. It's also annoying that I freeze up in the game at unfortunate times.

Are you SERIOUS Channel4? I've seen the latest 3D FPS require less than this for decent quality! Even with all the graphics and options turned off- I'm always crashing during the loading screens... it's no wonder!
It's a good game, but take it back to scratch and actually work on it this time!!!

Controls: for us who play on a qwertz (or any other different) keyboard layout it pretty ugly to use the Z/X for shooting. pls. make it customizable or at least make it Z and Y / X...
