It's a neat start, and just needs a few tweaks to make it a great game. There are several graphical bugs, mostly seem to be zoom related. When you're in the tech or achievements window you can't see everything, and there are a lot of times where you zoom in to the battle so close you can no longer see your opponent's health bar. Luck plays a huge part with such a small field, I'm hoping that later in the game it will get larger than 4x3. Also, there needs to be some way to get back to the mission screen & menus from within a battle, and a quick way to restart the battle when you blow the gold trophy.

Just a recommendation: I played the tutorial, and there was no explanations, it was just a regular battle. Improving this will avoid people getting frustrated at the beginning for not knowing what to do exactly.

I give up. I wanted to like this game, it has a nice atmosphere, neat animation, fun characters, etc. But it's just a heap of bugs. Like now I'm sitting on two completed saves, 35/35 gold trophys. Not even a single completed achivement registers, and i'm not able to acces the gold save, and everytime i go back to my second save, it records the last mission as new (even with the gold trophy awarded...)
You have great writers, but fire your programmers.

I manage to pull off a massive chain attack, and the game tells me that it was a "5HIT COMBO". That's not a very nice thing to say...

This game is pretty good, but I have 3 complaints. The game gets extremely laggy after 5 to 10 battles even on the lowest graphics setting which forces you to refresh. You can't quit out of battles. I got the hard badge , but the game bugged out and I didn't get to see the ending. 3/5

sometimes i manage to chain together a 8-10 combo, only to kill the enemy with the first two hits and the leftover damage is wasted as well as the chain meter.

Yeah, other than the grid size thing, the defense blocks need to be done away with as they serve no purpose whatsoever. They reduce incoming damage for that turn, then they wear off. That's it. That's worse than literally anything else you could do. That's just barely better than simply giving up a turn, and all it takes is one or two to in your grid completely screw you up for a whole battle, as you have two options; waste a turn/turns getting rid of them, or ignore them and let them screw up your combos and take up what tiny bit of space you have. Why would something like that even exist? Second, there needs to be a restart button. That way when I get a grid with, say, 3 separate defense blocks in it I can restart rather than getting frustrated and just refreshing my window.

for anyone having trouble selecting a target with mouse click, click on the background and then you should be able to use the up/down arrow keys to select target. Works in IE anyway.

I think it's great what you've done with the save system.
I mean that there is no save system, it's great the more you play the angrier you get.

This game is good it just needs some fine tuning. First the grid is too small but everyone has said that already so yeah. Second I dunno if its just me but there is some severe slow down happening that makes this kinda grindy game more of a slog then it needs to be. My computer isn't the best but I should be able to run this well enough. Third like I said before the game is a too grindy for how much luck goes into success. Enemies health needs to go down or your damage needs to go up or there needs to be less battle for each section. Anything to speed things up alittle.

*Major Bug* Chapter 8, Battle 7 hangs after completion. Both times I had a XPx2 bonus activated. The first time it gave me the "I am John" achievement and then does nothing; John just stands there with his coat flapping in the breeze and the target select circling under the last corpse. The second time, Kongregate gave me the Hard badge for completing the game; cue John just standing there, coat flapping, target select circling, nothing else happening.

I got the Hard badge the 2nd time I beat the last fight, but the game still was stuck in the fight. No ending, just a badge. Kind of anti-climactic. Curious how that bug got through to the final product.

My game is bugged and I cannot continue. I finish fight 7 in chapter 8 and then nothing happens. No victory screen and no other enemies. The target reticule stays over a dead body and I cannot click anything.

Not everything needs to blink and be animated and whatnot. Tutorial was extremely useless.
I did enjoy the game, but there were so many things ruining my fun not because they were missing but because you added them intentionally.
Sometimes less is more.

You should have the symbol for the corresponding damage on the opponents health bar. some of use are not good at seeing colors.

So after finally beating this grindfest of doing levels over and over until the RNG gives the right combos, apparently it locks up and dies after beating the final boss. I guess the developer never managed to get any playtesters willing to play long enough to get that far.

Freezing after you beat the final boss? Wow. What a finish to a muddled game. Thats the worst part, it wasnt bad to play and it was close to being good, and then it gets caught up in luck based, user unfriendliness, lagging and disappointment. 3/5, the 3 for what it could have been.

what would be cool is if you kill a guy with the first attack in a combo of like 3 or more, the other attacks carried on to some of the other enemies, would make getting gold trophies a ton easier.

Ok, so in-game achievements, which are also called trophies and have the same image as trophies, as not trophies. ...That's not confusing at all.

After defeating the final enemies in Chapter 8 it suddenly occurred to me that I had no idea how to get out of the prison. I was expecting a Templar Guard to drop a key or something but that didn't happen. In the end I just ended up stupidly standing over the dead bodies of my enemies with no idea how to move on from where I was.
Anyone else who has the same problem, just reload the game and win a battle like the badge description says and you should get the badge.

Yeah, that final battle bug is OBNOXIOUS. I would really like to see the end of the story, but since my game has frozen 3 times when I complete the final battle, I'm going to go ahead and not try again. Thank goodness a second win gave me the badge, or I'd be really annoyed.

Urgh. So many bugs. Apart from the tech points getting larger and larger causing massive slowdown, somehow I managed to make the end cutscene show without beating the last level. Then after that when beating the last level it just stops doing anything- it doesn't freeze or anything, but John just waits there for nothing to happen.

As a heads up guys, you can use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to change targets if clicking to change targets becomes too difficult/annoying.

Just one suggestion, when you have a chain, after you kill one enemy and still got some left, it should jump to next enemy, otherwise it will be wasted.

Match 3 is match 3, but there's little skill when it's only a 3x4 for a board. I've noticed a few slow down issues. An options menu during battle would indeed be helpful, and appreciated. A flee option would be nice when you're trying to get a golden trophy, and... you have only Match-1's, and at least 4 defense tiles, and healing tiles. Not bad, but if I want to play something like this, there are a lot of other games that do it better. The story doesn't seem to be very good, the first few chapters had story elements and then... "You're kidnapped, now do random battles. Now do more random battles." It feels very much like an excuse.

i'm at chapter 8 and when i finished the last mision (twice) the game just blocked:| it's a bug or it something i should do and i dont konw about it ? :S

rated this game highly after the first play as I really liked the idea of the game. Come back to play again the next day and the save was gone...oh well I'll start again...came back again and still not saving...I understand releasing games then tuning them up but the basics should be in place!!
